What is your favorite Jonathan Frakes scene?

I know a lot of people want to go with Riker making out with Lt. Troi, or somehow becoming a twin, and also the whole beard phases. But to me - to me as a Star Trek fan - this is my favorite Jonathan Frakes scene, just look at everyone's hair. roast me if you disagree.

Greetings, and welcome aboard!

Frakes has always been a solid actor, both on and off STAR TREK. (Also an excellent director.)

I love his hosting of BEYOND BELIEF: FACT OR FICTION. He makes every episode's questions a lot of fun.

As for scenes in the franchise, he has many great ones. If I were to pick, I might go with his scene in "Ethics" when he's talking to Worf about why he is not going to help him perform the ceremony. Just an excellent scene.

Though my favorite episode of his is "Frame of Mind"... just excellent from beginning to end.

But this is a Star Trek Forum though…

😉

And various people here have talked about roles of STAR TREK actors and actresses outside of their franchise work.

He was a perfect host for the "Beyond Belief: Fact or Fiction" show, but any time Riker would straddle over any chair - definitely was a nice touch, Riker's got it goin' on for sure! And now, I'm tempted to rewatch the season 5 epic extravaganza "The Game" for no reason. :D

And I too shall do so briefly. My fave Frakes scene, pre-TREK, but with his trademark beard, is in HILL STREET BLUES' second year in which he holds up two cops until growling Belker jumps on him as the camera fades to black. Digression ended.

I found the part in 'Thine Own Self' where he's basically talking to Deanna with his trombone to be way funnier than it should have been.
From Chakoteya:

TROI: Is that supposed to be a question?
(parp parp)
TROI: Because if you're asking me if I liked what you were playing, then the answer is yes.
(paarp parp)
TROI: You know, this is a much better way of communicating for you. It's far less confusing than the way you normally speak.
(parp!)

:D

"She speaks trombone?"
-My friend, having just seen the scene in question

I don't know Frakes outside of Trek really but my favourite TNG scene was when he was chatting to Wesley about romance and he the line he ends it on (can't remember right now!) he has such a twinkle in his eye. It feels genuine.

Indeed I think the power of Frakes and Riker was he felt like he was enjoying it.

You guys ever read Imzadi? If I recall correctly it is Riker banging Colonel Troi on an amazon planet for like a week

I have the book but have yet to read it. Will have to verify your claim when I do, because... what? :wtf:
