Things that frustrate us all

The Amazon online agent confirmed that their auto splitting of my order killed the bonus, and then he passed it up the Amazon food chain so I could get my bonus, where I immediately was rejected. So I filed a complaint with the BBB and Amazon gave me my bonus the very next day.

So, three weeks ago, my (step) sister Molly passed away from a viral infection.
Today, Molly's best friend since childhood, Diane, who was at Molly's bedside 24-7 those final days, died from what can best be described as a "broken heart".
Yesterday, my birthday, my next door neighbor growing up, whom both families used to go skiing together, passed away from MS.
I don't think I can take any more.

Um, I would suggest some therapy.

I am so sorry, honey.

That's a lot of loss in a short period of time. You have my deepest sympathy. Have you considered participating in grief counseling?

That's a lot of loss in so short a time. No words from me can really help.

All I can do is give you an internet hug.

Pretty much every gas station out here in AZ is pay at the pump, I honestly don't remember my mom ever having to go inside the store to pay.
My pickup truck tank holds 38 gallons of diesel. I've been to places that shut off the pump at $75. When the price for diesel is over $4 / gallon you hit $75 pretty quick. I used to have to go in the store, and before pumping, tell them how much I wanted, and paid with the card inside. I now have two Visa cards with 4% cash back on fuel purchases, so I can switch cards to reactivate and start pumping again, after the pump shuts off. Once you hit the $75 that card won't work at the same station until the next day.

I've run in to that, as well as holds being placed on funds until the next day for more than the actual amount of the gas payment. It's very frustrating. So, I use cash. Easier to avoid these problems.

I was on a trip to Texas from Central California (1600 miles each way) to attend a funeral in December for an Aunt that passed away at 90. The fuel alone was close to $1,000 round trip. The least expensive fuel was at Speedway Liquors in Albuquerque, NM. The pump shut off at $75, the station was closed both times I used it. The fuel was $3.49 / gallon. It was also a seedy area of town, a lot of home less when I first arrived on Sunday morning at about 05:30, coming up and wanting money. I hold up the credit card and my truck looks like a work truck with a white utility bed cap on a white truck. I am not carrying a lot of cash. If you get stopped by the police they will take away your cash (asset forfeiture) the same as if you were robbed. The cops don't do that to credit cards. The fuel purchase on that trip got me $50 cash back, enough to cover the cost of meals.

Wow, I didn't know they did that. We just have a smallish sedan, so that's never been an issue.
Walk into the kitchen to get something, then forget what you wanted to get, until you go back to the room where it all started.
Yeah, I do that a lot.

Every circumstance is different.

For me, cash is easier. But, I don't travel that far either, save for my commute to work.

Package was on a straight line to get to me today. Took a sudden turn and is now in the middle of flyover country.

More annoying than frustrating - my co-worker at the front desk likes to try an affect an accent every time a customer comes in from another state/county. If the customer is from any European country, he'll do a English, French, German, Spanish, Italian, etc. He also does Australian and New Zealand as well as Texas and Southern. He probably does it to make the customer feel at ease in a potentially stressful situation, especially where major repairs to your vehicle are concerned. But sometimes it comes off as slightly mocking and condescending and a couple of customers have called him out on it.

That’s called boredom.
I once briefly had a delivery job and would ask people to sign for things using different accents.(I do a good Jack Nicholson too.;))
