Stuff that make you wonder but not own thread worthy

Wondering now what Data's psychological testing for his Academy entrance exam looked like. We know it is based on psychological profiling that is apparently very accurate (in particular in finding everyone's deepest fear) and that it takes a unique form for everyone.

How did they apply this profiling to Data and what form would his test have taken?

TNG: Second Chances.

Will Riker was promoted from lieutenant to lieutenant commander because of his effort during the evacuation of Nervala.
Tom Riker performed the same actions, except he got left behind. When he was rescued by the Enterprise-D, shouldn’t he have qualified for the same promotion to lieutenant commander?

There's something to be said for having time to relax and psyche yourself up/study for what you're about to do. Travelling in an instant is great in an emergency, but having the journey to prepare physically, mentally, and materially is important when you have the luxury of time.

Yes, but he'd also been out of action for eight years.

Is there any classic Star Trek time travel device that's as recognisable as say the Delorean or the TARDIS or Bill and Ted's phone box?

I admit I forgot that part. I found it randomly looking for another clip. Was it ever explained that their giant heads were projections or what they actually are? It's been ages since I've seen it.
Nah not much was detailed about them, except that they never leave their home, & so bring interesting folks to them. They're pretty advanced, but I suspect they're pretty standard humanoids who sort of holographically project their heads to visitors, which I suppose if they could figure out how to do that long distance, we could see their heads at Quarks lol

But is Quarks big enough to fit their giant heads thinking further on it?
