I only half paid attention to the trailer. I feel kind of ashamed to be a Star Trek fan, right now. Nearly 50 years, and this is what it came to.
And at least with Garak and Kor they weren't universally beloved by the other characters. Garak made the Starfleeters very uncomfortable and Kor was really only ever dealing with other Klingons (Jadzia in those eps was all-in on Klingon behavior). Plus, it took them years to even find out the extent of who Garak actually was.
There's still hope for Captain Georgiou. I know the Klingons SAID they ate her, but it doesn't mean they actually did.

It is science fiction, yet, somehow they ended up picking the absolute worst way to bring back Yeoh.
Because they hate the fans and Star Trek.
If the big twist in this is that the Emperor dies in the first five minutes and the rest of the movie stars Captain Georgiou, I'm in. That was a vastly more interesting character and performance.

No, I'm sure someone on the writing staff thought they were very clever with their idea for a Mirror-redemption arc. But, like others have said, they went too far with Georgiou to make a believable redemption story.

Garak is a blight on Trek and gave rise to worse characters in the franchise.

There are fans , like myself that have no issue with how the writers dealt with the character. If they hated Trek it would not be still on our screens,, it would be dead, gone, finished, no more Trek.
And whatever General Order Chekov refers to in Turnabout Intruder.
