Tawny Newsome and Justin Simien developing new live-action Trek series

Only Trek fans could rain on a new series being made.

I thought we'd be down to just Strange New Worlds after Prodigy and Lower Decks concluded.

Color me surprised.

I agree . Only Star Trek fans do this No other franchise out there sees a trailer or hears news about a spinoff and reacts negativity. Really? Only Star Trek fans?

But on second thought your right. We as fans shouldn't express our feelings or opinions negativity .

My intital reaction to this was negative. But I will lie to myself as say we should be excited . And now I'm excited.

Point.

You missed it.

I don't see a reason to be negative.

Holy shit just make a show staring the Enterprise-G crew, or just keep making Lower Decks. What an absolute waste of time and resources. I thought the era of the Office/Parks and Rec rip off sitcoms was long over at this point.
Call me crazy, but I earnestly believe a Legacy-esque project will happen eventually. Entirely too much noise was made. Entirely from the fandom, yes. But they don't ignore this stuff.

The parameters are vastly different now than they were when the pre-SNW stuff happened, and not just because that was something TPTB were seriously looking at doing in quick order. There's just... there's a lot that's keeping that show, movie, whatever, from being made. But eventually, whether it's two years from now, ten years from now, whether it's a Seven of Nine show or it morphs into something else, whatever form it takes - there'll be something.

Terry has written scenes featuring Seven and Jack. I'm assuming something is going on BTS.

What is Trek without the Enterprise? (***Hides behind sofa***)

Which is why "The Simpsons" is in Season 36 ;)

Fox has vowed to keep airing The Simpsons in perpetuity (reboots, spinoffs, movies, etc.).

The entire cast could drop dead tomorrow and Fox will find a way to keep the show going.

First, I stumble on that horrific S31 trailer, and now ...

The new series is intended to be an action comedy that, according to Paramount, centers on Federation outsiders who are serving on a gleaming resort planet. Not only that, their day-to-day exploits are being broadcast to the entire quadrant.

Anyone have that on their bingo card?

:wtf:

A new Trek show? No.

People have a right to express positive or negative feedback. That's why forums exist. To express your thoughts. Positive, negative or anything in between.
Yes, but we know next to nothing and it's treated as the worst news.

Excuse me if I thought austerity measures meant less Trek than before.

I remember when everyone was shitting on Lower Decks and Prodigy. No one thought they would work out either.

If people want trek to not have a repeat of what happened in 2004, then it needs to diversify and experiment with presenting trek in different formats. The end of 90's trek shows that there is a limit to how many shows you can set on a ship and how many plots you can recycle.

So you've never heard of intital feedback? Why does the future of Trek forum exist then.

So what is your minimum threshold before any feedback can be given? A trailer, 2 trailers? First reactions are all over youtube. To say only Star Trek does this is not accurate. Normal every day people often give first reactions . Whether it's bouncing around news about a new show or when describing a new cooking recipe

Watching a show.

That's my threshold. Waiting for all information. It's only logical.

Hoping for rationality from Trek fans.
