what's your local weather?

72 F, uncomfortably humid and sticky and mostly clear tonight. Not as hot as it feels thanks to all this air moisture.

Hot as Hell here in the Cincinnati area. 100+ with the heat index. No real end in sight.

It is supposed to be 100 F today, 106 F and 100+ continuing into next week. Those are the actual temperatures without the heat index. I can enter the humidity and temperature using the heat index calculator when the peak occurs, but it usually only raises the feels like temp by 3 or 4 degrees.

We made it up to 117º today, and it was windy, which makes it even worse because that is a hot wind that literally makes it feel like you're standing front of a blast furnace, or opening up a giant oven.

So you don't have to worry about wind chill?
Supposed to get to 106 here today, it was only 98 yesterday.

Amazon delivered a package on my porch. Opening the door to the outside to get the package was like opening the door to a hot oven. It is 106F. But with only 23 percent relative humidity on my indoor/outdoor weather station, as Hudson in Aliens would say "Yeah man, but it's a dry heat."

Sunday was the same as Saturday a repeat high of 106 F / 41 C. This is typical of summer in central California.

Crazy storms all day. My son was getting into his car at 5am to drive to work when a lightning bolt hit the neighbor's tree really close to him. He said everything was white for a minute. It made a loud BOOM which woke me up and I thought, "poor son, having to drive in this", not knowing the worst of it.

A car acts like a Faraday cage so he would have been fine if it hit him.

144º today, but it extremely humid for us, at around 40%, and it was cloudy off and on.
We also just got a tiny, tiny bit of rain, like for only a couple minutes, but it was still the first we've gotten any in months.
