Emanations - do the Vhnori live in the mirror universe?

In Emanations, we see a humanoid race named Vhnori which lives in another dimension. But in DS9 episode Prodigal Daughter we see members of the same race in the Sappora system in the Alpha Quadrant (Lt. Fuchida and others).

Can the dimension where the Vhnori live be the mirror universe and Sapporans (or what's their name) be the Vhnori's prime universe counterparts?

What! Vhnori in DS9!

I've must have watched Prodigal Daughter about 6-7 times after finally getting my DS9 DVD collection in somewhat order and never noticed it. So sloppy of me!

I must watch it again now! :techman:

That will make great research for the "Voyager Mysteries-and how to solve them" page on the Kes Website.

However, I will present a theory right now!

What if the Vhnori are simply using some sort of wormhole for their transport of corpses to the ringed planet we saw in Emanations and that their homeworld is actually in the Alpha Quadrant or Beta Quadrant. Maybe "sapporans" is what the Federatists call them while Vhnori is the real name of the species?

Or that the Vhnori actually are from another universe or dimension but have created a colony in the Alpha Quadrant or Beta Quadrant and the people there are called Sapporans?

Maybe.

But I generally wouldn't present re-used makeup as evidence for it. That's a can of worms that shouldn't be opened.

Sorry Tosk, I don't want to be rude but that theory is a bit boring.

On the contrary, I love those small mysteries. They really challenge my imagination and creativity.

You should take a look at the "Voyager Mysteries-and how to solve them" page on the Kes Website. There you will find a thriving and most prosperous worm can! :)

I take it you don't subscribe to the idea that Weyoun secretly tried to earn some extra money as Brunt either? And also time traveled to the 22nd century to manipulate Federation history?

Given that Brunt had nearly become the Grand Nagus, it would be a very interesting idea, in fact...

Had weyoun as Brunt fully become the Nagus, he definitely would have brought the Ferengi Alliance into the war on the Dominion side. So, we have been massively underestimating the importance of Quark's cross-dressing in Profit and Lace. In fact, it saved the entire Alpha Quadrant...

An important reason to not just dismiss Profit and Lace from the larger DS9 saga as the atrocious episode it seems to be at first sight :)

I watched Prodigal Daughter yesterday just to check.

Of course the policeman is a Vhnori.

So they must have found ways to travel from their universe and some of them settled on the planet New Sydney in the Sappora system.

The question is if they have comntacts or not wit their own homeworld in that other Universe.

Or maybe the Vhnori homeworld isn't in another universe but just very far away from that ringed planet where they send their dead to. They may have used a similar technology as the Sikaris (VOY episode Prime Factors) to transport persons and objects very far.

Anyway, I guess that I've missed that the Vhnori was in this episode because I found Ezris obnoxious mother so annoying.
