Here's the pic just in case you want to see it: :D (resized for bandwidth)

Wow, that is freakin awesome. What were your camera settings?

Thank you! :D

Resolution: 5.0 MP
Quality: Super Fine
Metering: Multi
White Balance: Auto
ISO: 50
Exposure: Auto
Delay: 2 Seconds
AEB: Off
Highlight: Off
Sharpness: Standard

And then pick the spot, flash turned off, and *click*. :D

J - cool photo. Sounds like a good price on the tripod, too.

Thanks, Holdfast. Yeah, I couldn't believe it once I received the package. It's made rather well, and $10? Money well spent. That shot alone was worth the price of the tripod, at least to me. :D

Ingredients to make gnocchi for an international potluck dinner for tonight

Tickets for the Titannic artifact exhibit at the science center for tomorrow.

I bought more songs and Farscape Season 3 on Itunes this week.

I have a question for those who watch shows on Itunes. Whenever there is a movement in camera, there is a line that always pops up on the screen. Is there a way to make it go away or is it something I just have to live with?

What kind of line?

It's more like a lined distortion of the picture. It's closer to the top of the screen and it comes up whenever the camera moves.

I never see that kind of thing. In all the shows I've bought, the picture quality is near-indistinguishable from DVDs.

It's probably your video card struggling to paint the frames to the screen quickly enough.

I bought 'The Dark Tower Book I: The Gunslinger' (revised and expanded edition) by Stephen King. I finished the series a few weeks ago but years ago I traded a friend Book I for Book IV (Wizard and Glass). I'm a completist, so when I saw the revised and expanded edition I had to grab it.

I bought a new hat! As my custom fabric hat will take several months to complete, I had to fill the void in my heart with a different hat. But isn't it amazing? I bought it at The Village Scandal, it's an exclusive, and it goes just perfectly with an old dress.
Old dress:

New hat (What is a girl to do in this material world but buy hats?!):

What's best is that it reminds me very much of a hat my great grandmother had. She was a wonderful GG (that's what we called her), and often took care of me when things weren't well at home. She died a few years ago, and this hat makes me think of her. That makes me happy. Who said money can't by happiness?

Asterix = awesome. :cool:

Fab hat, works nicely with the dress (you look like you just walked off the pages of The Great Gatsby) and I love the flirty photo!

Thank you! You know I love that '20's look. The fashion of that decade was so remarkable. The way it finally freed the female form, the presence of a world influence, the unconventional use of shape. O, it was a remarkable decade for ladies' clothes!
Who said money can't by happiness?
Wise people, with far more life experience than either of us.
No, no, no. John and Paul clearly said "money can't buy [one] love". They didn't say anything about happiness.

I went a little daft today....

Ermenegildo Zegna Limited Edition Crocodile oxfords. Got a very good deal, but it's still WAY more than I've ever spent on a pair of shoes before. But I just fell in love...

And a pair of Edward Green for Ralph Lauren Purple Label. The leather is a bit stiff still but already starting to loosen up. Should be fab after a few wearings.

I won't get involved in the shoes conversation, but I do agree with Holdy that Asterix is totally awesome. :D

The Bible teaches that the love of money is the root of evil. I didn't mention them, but since you did I have to point out that you're most certainly wrong with what you said.

To be fair though, one can be happy in their evilness, thus money (the root of all evil) can in fact buy happiness. :p

money is not the root of all evil. Love of money is, as Apostle correctly quoted. It's amazing how often that passage is misquoted, so don't feel bad.

Money is a tool, like any other. It can be used to do good or used to do evil, just like a hammer can help build a house or help crush a skull.

Edit: It's true that money can't buy happiness, but perhaps it can buy a hat that makes someone happy.

I just ordered the first volume of classic 80s cartoon M.A.S.K. on DVD from the HMV website
38 episodes for £7.99, bargain!

Well, clearly the John and Paul to whom I was referring were Lennon and McCartney. :)
That whole sense of humor thing is really tough for you, isn't it? Don't worry, you'll get it eventually. Keep trying!
