MLB 2024: Baseball is for Everyone (subject to local blackout restrictions)

Year by year you remove pieces from your offense instead of adding to it, hire a new bench coach and "offensive coordinator," keep removing pieces from your offense, and he's the one who gets fired two months into the season.

The Cubs have had these long, lineup-wide batting slumps since John Mallee left after the 2017 season. Since then Chili Davis, Anthony Iapoce, Greg Brown(?) and now Dustin Kelly have held the position with generally shitty results. So Mallee came back this year as asst. hitting coach and I'm thinking they need to elevate him back to hitting coach.

If nothing else, during 2015-2017 they were wearing out starting pitchers at an historic rate, even if they weren't scoring 10 runs a game. They haven't done much of that, or anything else, since.

There's a baseball team -- Birmingham-Southern -- in the D-III World Series right now. They're still alive. Their school no longer exists.

Today is the 50th anniversary of one of the two most infamous baseball promotions gone wrong, 10¢ Beer Night in Cleveland.

A moment of silence for all the beers that gave their lives that fateful night.

Padres infielder Tucupita Marcano is facing a potential lifetime ban for betting on Pirates games when he was with them last season.

Funny, how only middling players end up in these binds, in any of the major sports.

Well, there's always the conspiracy theory that Michael Jordan's first retirement from the NBA and his dalliance with baseball was actually a secret yearlong suspension due to his relentless gambling...

He gone

Marcano bet almost exclusively on the outcomes of games and lost all of his parlay bets involving the Pirates, winning just 4.3% of all of his MLB-related bets, according to the league.
Was he so dumb to have bet on the Pierats actually winning?

Friggin'

walk in 6 Cubs runs in the 5th, then the Cubs' shitty bullpen gives the lead right back.
He's currently a Pierat.

Wow, you're soooooo clever. What's next, some "yo mama" jokes? Asking us to pull your finger?
