Spoilers Disco Final Seaon Ships'n'Tech

NCC-73515

Vice Admiral
Admiral
With S5 starting in a few hours, let's open the final Ships & Tech thread!

So far the only new ship we know of is an 800 year old Romulan science ship like the one from TNG.

Perhaps the new Kellerun captain has a cool new ship - maybe VoyaJer.

What other ships & props etc do you expect and hope to see?

Do I read a 1701 on it?

Now which Conny version is it? :D

Speaking of Saru, I wonder how long it takes his body to manufacture new Needle's/Darts so that it's ready at a moments notice to fire when he's in danger.

I counted 14x Darts in total, 7x on each side of his head where his threat ganglia used to be.

Treyecorders are an interesting new idea
With Obvious limitations.

It seems the scanning range is limited to what is almost right in front of you, basically within the same room and nearly arms distance.

But given that you're using your eye-balls as the scanning emitters, there are probably ALOT of low power emissions that really "Range Limit" the end user.

On the other hand, do we know they’re line of sight? If it’s an implant anyway, it could be omnidirectional, just with the “readout screen” projected onto your retina.

Could be, but if I was developing the EM sensor, having it shoot out of other parts of the body might have un-intended health consequences.

While shooting out of the eyes and reflecting back in the data might make it truly conceal-able.

It all depends on where they have the Ultra Low power EM fields shoot out of a persons body.

Is it the eyes, is the eyes only a display section?

Personally, I'd rather have the hands be the emitter/receiver and have the eyes just be the Optical feed.

Fair. I’d rather it not be an implant at all, but rather a spray-on nanotech structure that forms an easily removable “contact lens” over the eye, rather than being inside.
