Too obscure?
People mostly recognised Lou Ferrigno in his Hulk cameos. Admittedly Hammond isn’t quite as distinctive a figure as LF, but the shows were contemporaries.I doubt it, as The Amazing Spider-Man is one of those TV series forever listed on various "most wanted" list of shows that have not had a proper, official release (of any genre), and has its share of fans (and of Hammond specifically) who are still watching current superhero productions. Moreover, The Flash's timestream sequence featured visual nods to DC adaptations younger generations (e.g. Zoomers) never watched, or in some cases never heard of (or cared to explore), yet they were added, with the producers knowing there are some among the audience who would recognize and appreciate the nod.
I doubt if many moviegoers had seen him they would have exclaimed, "Ah! He played Spider-Man too!"
I think some of those kind of cameos are more of a recognition for the person doing the cameo than they are about the fans wanting to see that person.
Ferrigno was at the Stuttgart Comic-Con a few years ago (where I got my vintage Hulk poster signed), and during his panel, most of the audience questions were about King of Queens.Lou Ferrigno had stayed in the public consciousness through various guest star roles, cameos, and parodies by the time The Incredible Hulk came out, not to mention his show ran longer and was more popular vs Hammond's Spiderman.
I always put the Raimi Spider-Man movies ahead of the rest, and not just because I HATE teenage Spider-Man. Tobey Maguire is the only outright nerd spider-man, a guy who looked and acted exactly how you'd expect Peter to act. Andrew Garfield's Peter was 100% a "cool teen" of his era just based off his style and Holland, while a bit less "teen magazine model" then Garfield, always came off as too clueless, even though they like to pretend that he's smart when the story needs him to be. That said Andrew Garfield was actually good in No Way Home, I think with better writers and being an adult Spider-Man he could probably do well in a main character role now.
Also, the Raimi movies had the better supporting casts. James Franco is an ass IRL but as Harry he was good, much better as a supporting character then Ned from the MCU films. Unpopular opinion, but I think that Kirsten Dunst's MJ is just written better then Stone or Zendaya's characters, and I'd say that even if I wasn't sick of seeing Zendaya everywhere, although acting wise Stone is probably technically the best of the three. The villains of Raimi's movies also completely beat the ones from Garfield's or the first two MCU Spider-man films, although Jamie Foxx did get some redemption in NWH.
Of the 8 theatrically released Spider-Man movies I'd say that only three are good (Raimi's Spider-Man 1 & 2 and Spider-Man: No Way Home), and the rest are generally pretty bad.
Yeah, even his picture in a photo frame would’ve been a nice tribute.Hmm, maybe as an In-Joke HE should have played MCU Uncle Ben?
The thing is nowadays they ends up in movie news sites, wiki pages, youtube "Did you miss?" videos, promotional interviews and so on. So something for us long-timers but I think a lot of other people pick up on those things in various ways.
Silly rabbits! They started filming under the writers' strike and couldn't improv, so I expected reshoots. So Deadpool 3 is undergoing reshoots....and naturally, hardly any of the usual suspects are going after it for doing so the way they go after the other MCU movies for doing it
It's means the films a failure, Feige is fired and Disney is up for sale.Silly rabbits! They started filming under the writers' strike and couldn't improv, so I expected reshoots.
