Rogue P

I have just seen a video explaining what would happen if Earth was kicked out of the solar system. Has any Star Trek touched on this, dealing with a planet about to become a rogue planet, or a population barely surviving on one?

(Beware: the style of the video seems almost childish, but it turns into a horror show later on)

It was a plot point in a fanfic I started writing about 40 years ago and (like the rest of my fanfics) never finished.

On a tangent to the topic, but I love the Kurzgesagt channel. Their videos are really interesting, informative, and sometimes awe inspiring. Like the ideas for a "Skyhook" to propel spacecraft, how a technologically advanced society might be able to move their entire star system with a "stellar engine," and a real clear, concise, but hopeful explanation of the "Dark Forest Hypothesis."

The one they did about Black Hole Stars is amazing, especially the ending (starting around 9:15) where the combo of comparisons of scale and music is awesome.

Similar to a rogue planet, an eyeball planet would be interesting to see.

With all these red dwarfs in the galaxy, it would strange not to see one appear in Star Trek.
