The unnecessary reboot/remake of the week thread

Christopher McQuarrie, Tom Cruise and Scarlett Johansson might be remaking Clint Eastwood's The Gauntlet with a darker and grittier flavor.

There's going to be a Rosemary's Baby prequel airing on Paramount+ this fall about the couple who lived in the apartment before Mia Farrow.

If they do a 9 to 5 movie they will need to address the Metoo movement. My idea would be to have it focus on 3 nurses who has to deal with sexist doctor. Or if you do a corporate setting, you got to have the boss fired in the first act for his sexism and it looks like the Corporation is taking sexism serious. Only to find out the new boss is more progressive, but only in appearance and in many ways is just as bad as the old overt sexist guy he replaced.

I think a remake of that film would be a good Office Space sequel, where Peter has found his piece, but she has not and is still working nine to five, until she breaks, too.

I was thinking that if Aniston is remaking it, she should get Courtney Cox and Lisa Kudrow as her costars but then again, with Matthew Perry having recently died, perhaps it would feel a bit weird.

If you're going to remake 9 to 5, you have to cast someone known onscreen for their "nice guy" roles as a way to subvert expectations.
Someone who can be nice and charming then turn around and be an absolute asshole.

Jason Sudeikis has played nice guys and guys who are kind of assholes. Plus he has a kind looking face so even when he does bad things you still want to think he is a good guy on the inside. He would be a perfect Joss Whedon style of sexist. Reputation for respecting women yet the truth is something different yet people would go years not wanting to believe the truth because of that rep.
