Starting season 5 out of “completion sickness”…

The unneeded Klingon redesign. (Yes visual) They had that pretty well sorted after Enterprise and then had to redesign them with a ridiculous 4 nostril/ shaved pointy headed look. There was zero need for it imo. I know many don't care. But I do as well as many others. Then if course all the story retcons involving Spock/chapel etc. They had a chance to tell some new original stories but we are getting the same characters recasted for a third time starting with Disco into SNW....
Again I understand that some people don't care but there are many people that do. I don't expect everything to line up perfect. Never have .But Star Trek has been all over the place the last 8 years. Even Enterprise (which was lambasted for continuity errors back in 2001) respected things much more.
None of those are continuity errors. They’re just things you don’t like.

likely the end of the Paramount/Trek relationship, with Discovery most likely being the last (or close ) hoorah
No, we still have Lower Decks Season 5, SNW Season 3, the Section 31 movie and the Starfleet Academy show coming after DSC Season 5 ends.

But yet it's depicted as twice as big. Kirks quarters look to be as big as Ten forward.. lol
Pike's command has less crew than Kirk's remember.

You never finished Enterprise???
Nope. Time is top short to waste on uninteresting entertainment.

states it's a copy.
The purpose and the way people treat him in context state transfer.

Chakotay did not have his consciousness stored. It wandered.

There is zero need for anything. Even delicious food. Lol
Correct. So, a Klingon change is just that; a change. TMP wa worse in this unnecessary change. Worf's make up changed often, and TUC added more.

You have a genetically engineered virus causing mutations. Sky's the limit in Trek.
Pike's command has less crew than Kirk's remember.
Yup. Only around 200. Spaces were modified per mission parameters.

There's no size for the TOS Enterprise in canon.

I have stayed with this show way too long, but might as well keep at it for the last run
Hate watching still counts as watching. It's one thing to vote for the lesser of two evils in an election. It's another to vote for a politician you don't like when not voting for them can actually make an impact. YouTube channels like TrekYards will still analyze the season. EAS will still cover the canonical implications with D/SNW treated as a reboot timeline. You can even cancel P+ and write you don't like the direction of the franchise as a protest.

I dropped this series at the beginning of its third season. Season five looks to be the best season of DISCOVERY since the first season, so depending on if the season sticks the landing, I might watch it after all.

so depending on if the season sticks the landing
Normally I'd say little to no chance, but they were able to go back and film new material to finish the show, so hopefully even if the season arc finale isn't great they'll still have a nice send-off worth watching.

Season 3 and 4 were both good, extremely "Star Trek" in their themes, and I think season 4 generally runs neck and neck in fan polls/rating with season 2 for best season. Season 3 often ranks first in critics ratings.

I think the only thing most Star Trek fans can agree on is that DISCOVERY is an incredibly subjective and polarizing series, beyond all the canonical revisionism. This has all been litigated to death. I'm not here to dance on the series grave. I will just say that the series isn't 100% awful, that there should be room for nuanced takes on the series, and that if you don't like the series, it probably isn't worth your time continuing to beat your head against the wall unless you hear that the aspects that made you stop watching have changed.

Baffles me that anyone would watch a show they don't like, which is behind a pay wall, so they have to go out of their way to get a subscription service just to see it. For five seasons over a seven-year span.

That's a real dedication to wasting not only time, but also money. I'd invest that time and money into something I actually like.

I'm hate watching Le Brea.

I gave up on Manifest before it got Jesusy.
