And the Next Cancelled Show is...

There was not enough story to drag out over 10 episodes. And then it went from a murder mystery to a supervillain conspiracy.

Maybe the setting shouldn't have been a cruise ship. Because after the second murder, the whole thing should've been canceled.

They need to give Mandy his own detective mini- series (not a full series; he doesn't like the commitment). He'd be great as another character --like a gruff Rockford/Ironside type guy .
I'd watch Mandy read the yellow pages. He's so damn engaging, even when the material is subpar.

Honestly, I didn't like the performances. Especially the lead. But none of them worked for me in this show. Maybe it was the direction.
Fair enough. I think there was just enough familiar faces (particularly Jere Burns) that I was willing to look past the material, the direction, and the very weird bluescreen.

The one standout of the (for me) newbies was, as you already referred to, Pardis Saremi. Once I realized Leila wasn't just a one-dimensional flake but an actual hardworking journalist, I was engaged with her performance. But even there, the material let her down for a few episodes until that reveal.

Except that Interpol wanted to keep all the suspects in one place, even though Interpol has no authority in international waters, so it doesn't matter what they said.

I know where beating a dead horse (show) here but was anyone else super distracted by that weird assed blue screen the entire time?

The show was okay but I can't say I will miss it to much. It just never came close to matching the original and I am still kind of angry that it took forever to bring the show back and then they did it after Dean Stockwell and also no Sam. Seeing those two together is what all QL really wanted for the most part IMO. Not that people would be against new adventures with new people but we really wanted Sam and Al together again at least one more time.

Really? Because all I wanted to see was was Ian smash the patriarchy and bring on a trans Utopia.

You give an oppressed disenfranchised abused minority a time machine, and they don't destroy all white people, then they are not really trying.

You would only destroy yourself. The butterfly effect kills all when it comes to time travel alterations.

NBC has given the axe to Quantum Leap.
I'm both disappointed about this, but also a little relieved. I saw half of the first season, but lost interest after that - I'm not really sure why. Maybe it was just so different from the original series, and I was hoping they would somehow convince Scott Bakula to be involved in at least one episode.

The cast is pretty talented. They will no doubt land on other shows or even in some movies. Ernie Hudson of course is a Icon so he has to worry about nothing in this regard.

Quantum Bubble.

Nothing Project QL does to Time effects any one working for Project QL.

Ian starts beaming Pepsi cans inbetween the ears of anti-gay rights extremists in the government and the church.

What are the 2 billion Catholics in the world going to think if every time their new Pope tries to rant about the homosexual deviants that their face explodes?

Remember Janeway at the End of Year of Hell? She chose to die and become reset, by turning off her temporal shields, rather than living on as a witness.

Ian might chose to remember what the world was like when it was run by straight assholes, but then if they box up their memories, and there's no one on the wall waiting for the white walkers, then the trans Utopia may not last for a thousand years.

Might sound okay in theory but wait until you go home and find out your parents or children, siblings etc no longer exist. While you yourself might be protected from changes it's likely you will have loved ones living outside of the babble that will be changed or even erased.

They lose or gain their loved ones every week, already from the "virtuous" changes that Ben makes.

You seen Shining Girls? In that one Elizabeth Moss is unstuck, her residence, flatmates, relatives, education, job and pets keep switching out, every time a time travelling serial killer trundles through time like like a wrecking ball brutally murdering sweet strange restacking her teetering life history.

That was the premise of the Time Tunnel remake that only ever made it to an unaired pilot.
Everyone inside the building remembered what the world was like before the experiment went haywire, while the person they recruited from outside the building had his memory and life experience changed by the accident.

I haven't seen either of those shows or movie. Now I want to.

Unaired time Tunnel Pilot. Many recognizable actors.

Shining Girls trailer. It plays out as a serial killer murder porn that your mum watches at first, then progressively gets more timey whimey.

My parents enjoyed new "Quantum Leap." I watched the first episode and wasn't that taken with the relationship stuff nor the present day storyline. Which is funny because I always compared "Journeyman" as a new version of QL and it did the same relationship stuff but I really enjoyed it there.
