Not sure why STD or SNW can't do it. It's like the producers are embarrassed by TOS. I'll give Berman credit for his tenure. He honored tos and wasn't afraid to integrate its look and costumes into his trek shows.

No they're not. SNW is a love letter to TOS.
Outside of "Trials and Tribble-ations" and "In A Mirror Darkly") (two gimmick episodes) when did Berman Trek ever "honor" TOS? They used the models and uniforms from the films as a matter of budget and practicality. I don't recall them doing the same for TOS.

Why change the uniforms in STD and SNW. SNW door closer but decided to enlarge the enterprise and keep that ridiculous window.
Exactly. It had everything to do with saving money, not honoring anything. DS9 was a gimmick episode, honoring an anniversary. They did not speak of it ever again.
Guess I missed the TNG and VOY episodes featuring TOS uniforms.
Because it's art not history, not a reenactment, not a period piece.

STD is Star Trek Discovery. Star Trek Deep Space Nine would be STDSN or the one most people use DS9. Sorry for the confusion.

Fascinating. I've never seen anyone abbreviate a Star Trek series like that. Otherwise it would be like:

huh.... no wonder it's confusing.
Edit: forgot about STT and STS and STL.
STP is Star Trek Picard. STTNG I used to see a lot in the early years but TNG is the ine most people favor now. The shows with longer names tend to go that route. Star Trek Voyage as STV confused people with Star Trek V The Final Frontier so everyone just call it Voyager for short but that can be confused with an old we show called " "Voyagers!" so some people use Voy. It really depends on preference.
My preference is writing things out. Abbreviations are for work.
To each his own. I call STSNW SNW or sometimes Strange New Worlds when I verbally discuss the show. It really depends on my mood or how much talking I want to do.
