Spoilers ALL of season 2 online NOW in French!!

Do we know if they’ll take it down in France yet? Is there any news on when the rest of us will get it? I haven’t seen anything apologising for the mistake? Is this just a PR stunt?

It's still available so I assume they negotiated the broadcast rights and concurrent streaming rights separately with CBS Paramount/Nickelodeon when the original deal was signed, similar to what is happening with CTV in Canada.

I have question!
I grasp that a big deal is made about rescuing Captain Chakotay...but his crew doesn't get mentioned. We see his Aurelian first officer on video but in the later episodes there's Chakotay and nobody else.

What happened to the original Protostar crew besides Chakotay and Hologram Janeway?

Sadly, they all died. Even the Auerlian first officer who survived the longest died last. The Auerlian got shot and Chakotay took him with him. The whole Temporal schenanigans aren't over btw.

One of the episodes in which the kids finally find Chakotay deals with the loss of his crew.
Even though I didn't understand what was said specifically, I could see it really hit Chakotay hard to lose his crew like that. He seemed to have gotten a significant character growth from that point onward (well deserved I might add).
I seriously hope we get to see more of him (and other of the original VOY cast) if Pro gets renewed for S3 and beyond.

Pics and observations!

VoyAger looks great, Sov nacelles are so much better than the short Intrepid ones. Note the Sov torpedo launcer and yacht as well. They have a cloaked shuttle, the Infinity.
They get a new ship at the end, Protostar-A class, named Prodigy :D

The Prometheus from the S1 flashback appears again and this is the Protostar

VoyAger's cetatean lab has a humpback named Gillian ;)

Dr. Erin shows a TOS Conny and BoP slingshotting :D

They also reference Cochrane, Paralleles, and the Bell riots, there are BTTF fadeouts, Murf turns into a beautiful sea creature in water, they have Matrix sentinels with legs, one great scene is an almost exact recreation of the shuttle chase dive from INS, Janway takes her shirt off when hunting just like in Macrocosm, the car from S1 now has a BTTF hover mode, there are cadets from Nova squad on board, they find a Klingon tribble biologist (Rok gets a new mixed pet), in one parallel timeline there are Enderprizians on the ship and Captain Tuvix!!!, some Bynars are working in the background, they mention a new maneuver, the Boothby supernova, the transporter looks a lot like in the Kelvin films, and both Shinzon and Picard, and the Romulan evacuation are mentioned.

Mirror stuff

Surprise connection at the end

Jellico, Janeway and others in the PIC flashback unis, the attack on Mars from Short Trek CoM happens, and there's a direct loop closure to S1E1 that's mindblowing!

Biggest character spoilers

Wesley in one of his famous sweaters lives in a Traveler temple, he has a BTTF2 Doc timeline explanation scene, Beverly shows up as well, they meet again for the first time, and she introduces him to Jack :D

Gwyn also meets her dad before he turned evil, there's a nice episode with holographics doppelgängers who think they are the real ones, Zero gets a nice new body and a new suit, and a new main character is the Vulcan Majel!

Verdict
There are heavy emotional scenes that are probably too much for young kids, but exciting for older ones like this one :D
Beautiful visuals and music, like the Protostar sailing in a sea of clouds and launching like the Franklin in Beyond :luvlove:
Really impressive time travel, loop, alternate reality stuff, those connections to TNG and Picard, it's all glorious and even better than S1. It makes no sense at all that P+ abandoned it. This is the show that should go on above all others!
[/spoilers]

I agree with pretty much everything you said.
The show actually pays attention to canon and managed to create a compelling and complex story.
It is severely underrated.
Here's hoping the show gets renewed for more seasons. :-)

Is one of the heavy emotional scenes Janeway & Chakotay finally admitting their feelings and getting together?

Responding as a non-French speaker who speed-ran the series with a translator app running specifically looking for "closure" on this.
And... I legitimately don't know what their deal is? But I LOVED every second of it. They had so many beautiful scenes together (even with most of the nuance lost in translation) that I truly have no clue which was the one that made Kate cry and Nami blush. I didn't catch one grand declaration of feelings, but they had such perfect "these people are in love and do nothing to hide it so why state the obvious" energy that even the kids remark on it. And she touches him SO much. It's glorious. TLDR: It wasn't what I expected but they nailed it. And I really can't wait for the English release so I can fully experience the voice acting and word choices in their scenes.

I also don't understand French, but I thought Chakotay's entire arc was SO well done. Prodigy really did more to flesh out his character in this one season than Voyager did in its entire run. His convictions, strength of character, incredible skill as a Starfleet officer, tendency to slide into Dad Mode with his crew, devotion to Kathryn, and the rage that led him to the Maquis are all there onscreen. What a masterful portrayal. I can't wait to watch this season in English to see if they handle his heritage better; I *think* they did, but I couldn't tell.

Surely that means the opposite to what you’re saying because things like this can happen?!
I don't understand what you mean.

A nonexclusive license means that others are free to license it, which is what we all want.

It's not the fault of the French that services in other countries haven't yet released it.

But then what we don’t want is for this exact situation where France have aired it all before the rest of the world and spoilers are put online, ruining the hard work and dedication that the whole team put into Prodigy and keeping the secrets and working to get it actually aired after Paramount pulled it. So while I understand what you mean, I also mean it makes this shitty situation we’re in happen.
It’s all just shitty, we’ve all waited for Kate to return as Janeway, even before we knew Patrick was returning as Picard! It’s just such a crap situation. I’m really mad about it

No I didn’t, I haven’t watched it at all! I don’t even know how to access it, I want to wait for the real show. I was told a spoiler by someone online
Oh, nevermind. That was someone else in this thread. Still, you came here to seek out more information about it. You could have not done so. Also, you could've been told a spoiler by someone online even if it were available everywhere and you just hadn't watched it yet.

Again, the problem is not with France licensing the show, but with Netflix delaying its wider release unnecessarily.

I think this is then the issue of Paramount who just made it non exclusive.
FranceTV did nothing wrong.
How everyone else chooses to air Prodigy S2 is up to them, but since FranceTV aired it all in one go, then everyone else should do the same (otherwise they will look like fools).

It just shows how outdated it is to push a show on a weekly basis in the age of streaming (heck, once all of it airs, you can rewatch it all again anyway in one go or whenever you have the time - weekly releases don't change that - its literally up to the consumer to decide). Once production and editing has been done, just release all of it (since all of it is done).

I don't agree that France has spoiled anything.
It just means they decided to air it differently than others.
People may end up mad at Netflix and other distributions though for NOT releasing the whole of S2 in English ASAP though... at worst, they have to wait for English version to trickle out on a weekly basis (which will be a pain if they do that)... but all I really care about is that the show receives recognition and success and renewal for more seasons... and if this helps it do that, then no one should complain.

Everyone posting here has been incredible about spoiler-tagging everything, even doing so while answering questions.

And I agree. The only problems I see with this release are a) the international distributors didn't coordinate their plans, leading to a marketing problem where France has a full season and everyone else doesn't even have a release date yet, and b) the creative team wasn't made aware it was happening, which caused chaos on social media because the public obviously went straight to the writers for confirmation. It's messy but it's legit.

Prodigy S1 requires you to be a subscriber to watch, so I assume so.

It may actually be harder to watch in Canada if you don't pay for cable

That's sort of what I was afraid of. Still holding out hope that when the official announcement is made as to when they're showing season 2, there's also news about it being made available on Crave. (Too bad CTV.ca doesn't have some kind of paid option to get you access to all content, similar to CBC Gem Premium.)

I was told a spoiler by someone online

That is definitely the unfortunate part about all this. This thread has been pretty good about the spoilers (although I am worried that it's just a matter of time before something accidentally slips), but other places are certainly not going to be as good. Might be time to stay away from social media for a while...

-----

I do have to admit, I'm a little surprised by the number of people in this thread that seem to be treating this more as getting the leaked answers to their Prodigy Trivia Final Exam, rather than an entertainment experience. Production design is one thing, I've read articles about production design before something has aired. But character appearances and plot points? I get that a lot of people aren't as spoiler-adverse as I am, but it is genuinely surprising to me how many people want to see it in a language that they don't even understand just to try to glean story details.

Please note, this isn't a criticism... my philosophy has always been if it makes you happy and doesn't hurt others, then go for it! There's no wrong way to be a fan, and I'm definitely not trying to denigrate anyone's choices. It's just so far from my own mindset on something like this, that it's kind of shocking, is all.

Of course, I'm weird, so I should be used to my mindsets not exactly being mainstream!
