"So, now you yell at me for using magic!"
"Why on Earth would I do that?"
"You said you wanted to Role Play, and this is how I want to Role play, now call Mother a wizened shrew and take your shirt off!"

It would be like an intelligent, cultured modern woman leaving her life behind to become the wife of a man in a remote primitive tribe in Borneo who has never had contact with civilization.
Another interesting point is that Samantha is a powerful woman who has lived 400 years and who has met the greatest artists, philosophers and historical figures of the last centuries. She abandons this life, family and friends to fulfill a trad-wife wet dream for a man whose greatest dream and aspiration in life is the Christmas bonus. What psychological mechanism can push a person to make such a choice?
Sounds like a Hallmark movie on steroids.
Just googled that. I wish I didn't.You've never seen 90 Day Fiance?
Just googled that. I wish I didn't.
It's like...
"You poor, you did not tell me you poor, If I know you were poor, I would have stayed in Latveria. You not real man. You sad girlyman.""
"But you said that you would %%%k me?"
"If You real man, you grab me by pussy!"
and so on....
(My wife made me watch of it, a few years ago.)
I quickly skimmed the Wikipedia page dedicated to the show. Amazing how many stories have ended in prison and/or death.
I watched the series many years ago, but I don't feel like Darrin ever appreciated the sacrifices Samantha made to be with him. On the contrary. He always portrayed himself as the victim.Love. Just because someone lives a long time doesn't mean they won't fall in love with people. She must have loved Darren for reasons only people who are in love can explain why they love who they do. I would think maybe one of the reasons she loves Darren is he doesn't want her to use her powers and wants to just live a normal everyday marriage. A lesser man might just pretend to care about her because he wants her to use her powers for personal gain. Exploit her for being a witch with magical powers. With a wrinkle of the nose Darren could become the riches most powerful man on the planet. Yet he rejects this possible power.
Yep, for her it was probably the equivalent of volunteering in a soup kitchen at a homeless shelter for an evening.Samantha spent a long weekend with Darrin.
40, 50 years is nothing to an immortal.

Well, he made Samantha live the equivalent of a paraplegic servant in a cabin in the middle of the woods with no running water or electricity. She can say that she wanted this too as often as she wants, but if I were her relative too I would feel a little hostile towards him too.Sam's family did go out of their way to victimize Darrin with a level of contempt that would not have existed if they were on the same, mortal playing field as Darrin.
Something else to consider was the concept of marriage in the immortal world. Neither Maurice nor Endora referred to one another as husband or wife, even in the past tense. They were simply Samantha's parents. I suspect they were never married at all, not in the mortal definition of the word. Perhaps Samantha's marriage was itself part of the problem, an institution that was not shared among other immortals.

But he didn't make her do anything. She used her magic all the time and frankly she always seemed more in control of the relationship. Almost like she was humoring him because she loved him with her choice to not use magic. He might get a little huffy but in the end they always kiss and makeup because they where in the end happy with each other.
Who needs Hallmark with romance so well described? Most Husbands can kill their wives without much exertion.
Most wives prepare their husbands food, so they can kill their husbands without a lot of exertion either.
Marriage is about two murderers not murdering each other, sometimes.
