Gina Carano Sueing for Wrongful Termination from Disney

This is why she will likely lose. She was not fired. Just not rehired. Same thing that happened to Colin Kaepernick. Company decided they no longer wanted to do business with them because they didn't like their politics. The Nazi metaphor means nothing. I am sure you can find thousands of Disney employees calling Trump HItler or Republicans Nazi's. Nazi Germany is such a go to place for metaphors we use to have something called Godwin's law before social media elevated the use of the emotional hot take approach to "debating" issues.
 
I got the impression it was whole series of posts people had a problem with, not just the one Nazi reference.

Most people didn't care. It was just Twitter nonsense as usual blown up by clickbait. Hell most people don't even know who Gina Carano is, much less cares about her views on anything. The Nazi reference was just the excuse they went with to follow through on what they were going to do anyways.

They couldn't get her to shut up about her politics and like many companies, still think Twitter represents the world so they took action by refusing to bring her back. Probably hurt them more than anything because it destroyed their "Rangers of the Republic" show that could have been a hit. Meanwhile she gets to go be a Republican Princess. Worshiped and beloved by MAGA.
 
Having someone like that as the lead for one of the major series isn't necessarily a great look for a company like Lucasfilm/Disney. Even if Twitter doesn't "represent the world" it's still popular enough that word is going to get around about what she said, even for people who don't get on it.
And I just wanted to add as a vegan, I really didn't appreciate the "cry into their soy milk comment". We're not a bunch whiny little brats like the comment implies, we're people who choose not to partake in the torture and cruelty of the horrific dairy industry. Hell, a lot of us are people who are activists who go out and fight for change, and the things we're passionate about, so chances are the absolute last thing we'd do is sit and home and pout. And a lot of people who drink soy milk aren't even that, a lot of simply lactose intolerant.
 
I'm not sure she would have been the lead. More of a ensemble type of show. I think their would be some controversy but you see that with someone like Chris Pratt. Every time he does a show or movie, some people try and cancel him but it never sticks. If the show was good all that stuff would just be this thing happening in the background.

It might be shocking to hear a vegan say this, but I don't think I've ever eaten Kale. At least not on purpose, it might be part of one or more of the meals I eat without me knowing it.
 
I have never eaten Kale either. Doesn't look good, but looks can be deceiving as anyone who has ever ate a grapefruit thinking it was a orange can testify.
 
To be more specific, there's a pseudoscientific idea that eating soy produces or simulates estrogen, so men consuming soy in whatever form literally become less "manly," physically weakening, developing breast tissue, and so on. Combine the idea that it's feminine to have an interest in social issues, have a distaste for meat, to know things about stuff, and you get an insult that, basically, boils down to a schoolyard taunt of calling a boy girlish, suggesting they only care about the well-being of minorities (or whatever) because they've willingly sacrificed their masculine swagger by eating of the accursed feminizing bean, instead of the masculinizing cattle.

(The fact that people in Asia had soy beans as a staple crop for thousands of years and yet, somehow, did not experience meaningful consequences to their population from all their men being rendered impotent by constant lifetime soy consumption is not typically explained in this theory.)
 
It also helps that soy is just a kind of funny sounding name. Same with Kale and Latee. Words that end with y are almost as funny as words that end with z.
 
X is going nowhere. It's just a matter of time before he starts trying to turn it into the new Youtube but with less censorship in order to drive content creators from their to X. Which site becomes the most dominant will be the one it which best allows it's content creators to make the most money.
