Gina Carano Sueing for Wrongful Termination from Disney

here's my 2 cents worth: in an episode w/ Bill Maher at Real Time w/ Bill Maher, he said in TopGun Marvick, Tom Cruise refers to the enemy as "The Enemy" w/o mention whether they are Russian, Communist china etc. That's the culture today, that no actor will piss off any race, group, gender etc. So no 1 actor will step on the toes of any group, people, countries etc.

The original TopGun did that as well, it isn't a recent thing. Though you can guess who the enemy is based off specific details. The Markings are on the enemy aircraft in the first movie look Soviet and use Russian names, and the enemy in Maverick is probably an Iranian group because of the F-14s, they're the only country in the world other than the USA to operate that aircraft.

Awwwwww, what happened? Little Ben Shapiro didn't make her the action star she thought she was gonna be?

Well, he could not promise a continuing entertainment career when he was incapable of earning one for himself (or use the nepotism track via his mother who worked in the business). Besides, Shapiro has been far too busy with his 'round the clock ranting about / damning black people, embarrassing himself by quoting his wife as saying a "WAP" is somehow abnormal (so much to take away from their views on that), and calling for attacks on anyone he sees as a threat to his interests. With such a busy schedule of propaganda and raging hatred, The Daily Wire's pathetic little stab at filmmaking had to take a back seat to more pressing issues, so Carano was left out in the cold. It did not help that her TDW film was amateurish dreck only serving to expose how limited her "acting ability" is.

Didn't the original Top Gun do the exact same thing? So hardly representative of the culture "today."

We saw a white guy with bad eyes talking to someone ethnic in a cave about how he had to destroy America because he got rejected from flight school for having less than perfect vision.

Which would be like Brainy Smurf teaming up with Gargamel to transjigger all the other Smurf into Gold.

I'll never understand why anyone would want to sue to get their job back in a situation like this, if they hire you back, it's gonna be a horrible experience. The bosses aren't going to be happy they were forced to hire you back, and the people who complained to the bosses to get you fired are gonna be mad they brought you back. So they're all probably gonna treat you like crap, which means you'll be miserable. So basically everybody is involved is going to end up pissed and miserable.

You make it sound like all of hollyweird hates her with the passion of a 1000 burning suns.. they dont.

You're the one crying into your Bud Light that she was fired. There is no Injustice here. She deserved what she got. End of story.

It occurs to me that before the age of social media and internet, we knew (or even cared) very little about the political/religious/cultural beliefs of our superstars/actors/etc, and nor did most of them make an effort to expound upon them. Now, especially due to the political climate, folks feel free to let their personal flags fly, without thinking that their words/acts have repercussions.

That's completely untrue. See the Red Scare of the 1950s and the Hollywood blacklist. From https://www.gsb.stanford.edu/insights/hollywoods-red-scare-spread-stigma-association:

In the early 1950s, 300 actors, writers and others suspected of being communists were blacklisted in Hollywood and excluded from the workforce. A recent study, coauthored by Professor Hayagreeva Rao of Stanford GSB, analyzes how social networks of the day resulted in hundreds of individuals whose names were not on the list being denied jobs.

I wasn't talking about her in the post before this, I was just talking about situations like this in general.
And what's with the soy milk comment? I'm not really sure if there's really that much correltation between veganism/vegetarianism and the kind of people who were pissed about Carano.
