Awful.

We saw Emma Roberts give birth to Spider-Man. Is Sony planning on screwing over the MCU and doing their own Spidey after Tom Holland retires?

Adam Scott as young Uncle Ben, wow, I think he got more screen time than Cliff Roberts.

I saw the bad guy in the trailer, and thought, wow, if that's Kane, then this is set after the Clone Saga, but it's not Kane they took a good guy, sorta, and then ignored everying.

The movie is set in 2002 so they play Brittany and Alannis in the back grounds in case we forget.

Is Zosia Mamet being punished, I. Really don't think anyone in this movie deserves to be in a Dakota Johnson Movie.

No one likes it.

14 percent on Rotten tomatoes.

80 million budget, an it's looking at a 27 million opening weekend.

They made the dumb presumptuous mistake of holding back on the cool shit, because they were building lore for a trilogy.

Oh. "I have to protect this idiot teenagers I don't know from a super human serial killer, but I'm going to leave them with a pregnant lady for a week, while I go to Peru."

A week to plan, execute and return from an excursion to south America to figure out who killed your hot mum?

More unrealistic than Galactus the Devourer of Worlds wearing board shorts (look it up.).

The end fight reminded me of the final in Highlander 1, except that no one had any swords.

Dumb.

I have a question. Adam Scott is Ben Parker, yeah? And Emma Roberts is Mary Parker. But they aren't a couple, their partners are May Parker and Richard Parker.
So where is Peter's father Richard in all this? Who is the father of the spider-baby in the final cut of the film?

Is Uncle Ben being positioned as "Uncle" Ben?

I went on IMDB to see who Dakota Johnson's hot mom is that OP brought up and no one is listed, but Jill Hennessy is credited as "beautiful woman", so either she's had a hell of a career drop, or I guess that's her?

Kerry Bische from Red State and Halt and Catch Fire, is Madame Web's mother. We see her in flashbacks in the 70s, when she was pregnant, with Cassadra Web, her baby.

Richard is out of the country, so his brother volunteered to lend a hand to his very pregnant sister in law, so she did not fall, and lose the baby, or one of any other million possible complications.

As a trained S.H.I.E.L.D. Field Agent, even 9 months pregnant, Mary Parker should have been able to end this travesty in the second act, if someone had bothered to read her into this b movie bullshit.

I'll just repeat what I said in the Sony Spidey-verse thread. While I didn't think this was an awful movie, it was rather bland and dull.

I might stream in the future. But this looks bad.

Are folks going to give up on super hero movies after getting burnt over and over with bad ones?

I might go to see another Holland Spider-man movie. But that’s about it these days.

I'll go see the ones that look good. I mean, even in the Superhero drought I didn't go see Steel.

My personal feeling is that they just need to give people a reason to go. If you can't even generate a good trailer to excite people don't be surprised when they stay away. I think at this point there have been enough superhero movies it's hard to sell some generic setup even if competent.

The movie is by the numbers, I just think that any one else in the cast would have made a better Cassie Web than Johnson, starting with Emma Roberts.

Dunno what your problem is with Johnson. She's the only reason I even bothered to watch the trailer. Movie wouldn't have blipped my radar otherwise.

Still not paying to see it, though.

As a man of a certain age, I resent anyone with a full head of hair.
