Not even Snoop and Kirk Stillwood got it right, look:

I wouldn't mind something set after the events of Enterprise and set 20 or so years later (think 2180s or so) where the Federation is facing a external/internal crisis and you got all these different worlds pointing their finger at one another. So you have President/Admiral Archer commission a starship to go out and investigate what's going on.

That premise will put my butt in the theatre several times

Well, if you're going to misread the thread title go for the gold.
Though I admit that I was word playing with this threads title in my post, I was not suggesting that any *new* movie should not be made. However, it is debatable that one or two of the *past* movies probably would have been better off left unmade… I love them all though, simply because they are Star Trek.

I am quite looking forward to JJ’s potential take on the prime timeline in this movie that will probably never be made though, hehe. :techman:

For the record, gold is worthless in the 24th century…. I’m going for the latinum pressed inside. :D

BTW, any species that successfully passes the Metron test, ‘trial by combat’ with the Gorn, would most certainly impress this advanced species. Therefore the Typhon pact members may have relations of sorts with the Metron’s, as all pact members would have passed their test with the Gorn by making an alliance/pact with the reptilian species, rather than fighting them to the death.

What a shame that Kirk or Pike did not pass the Metron test first though!

Maybe Captain Seven of Nine can rectify their mistake. :shifty:

Funnily enough, I think that this is entirely possible. If anybody could pass the Metron test, then Seven would be the one.

Though this may lead to further complications, as the Metrons could be so impressed by Seven that they decide a further test to challenge her metal via another trial… trial by Marriage. For many species, ‘trial by marriage’ can yet again lead to ‘trial by combat’, as demonstrated in the Vulcan right of Kal-if-fee, and other relationship or ‘commitment rituals’ such as par'Mach, though the Klingon ritual is more consensual. Trial by wedding would also include the unwelcome transgressions, complications and commitment issues often common in romantic relationships amongst all species. The Borg have never had these complications as they are one, so Seven should be fine. Seven is a strong, independent women. :bolian:

This could be a comedy episode but with Metrons instead of Ferengi. :D

If they do make this movie I say they do it direct to Streaming and maybe even use it as a backdoor pilot to a new Star Trek series (similar to how Battlestar Galactica started as a 3 hour miniseries and then developed into the show.)

The ST09 prequel this thread is about, and Star Trek 4.

Even though I believe in the continuation of this universe, I don’t think either film will be made. At least until SNW ends. As the suits will think its confusing for fans to have two TOS era production. Even though fans aren’t that dumb.
