Mack Daddy Harry "Big Pimpin" Mudd

Takomaguy

Captain
Captain
I wish I had a nickel for all the times I've seen TOS, but this is the first time it ever dawned on me that Harcourt Fenton Mudd was a P-I-M-P! Think about it! The hat, the ear ring, his Hos. He hadn't been on the ship for 5 minutes and her already had them on the Trek Track. He needed to get himself and hos out of trouble. The used his women to get controlled of the various men on the ship, to get the information he needed. Then he used his women to get control of the miners, which in turn got him control of the ship.

Harry dispensed with the pimp knowledge. He even taught Eve how to play Kirk.

The on the other Mudd episode, Mudd was going to control the galaxy with positronic pimpin!

I don't think this thread will go that long, but go back and watch those episodes, and see what YOU think!

 Harry Mudd is a pimp!? Next thing you tell me is "The Doomsday Machine" is some kind of "Moby Dick" hommage and "Let That Be Our Last Battlefield" is an allegory on racism. :p

Dude, what can I tell you??? I was a kid when I first saw the episode. What did I know about pimps and hos???? Not only was I a Cub Scout, and Safety Patrol boy, I was an alter boy for crying out loud!!!

Harry Mudd a pimp! I've never thought of him that way, either, but you're right.

I do know when I saw this show on first run, I got a thirteen year old boner over Eve. Harry, you dog! And to think, I could have been governor of New York.

Here's another thing. Was this episode somehow prophetic given the fact the the woman who played Yeoman Rand became a prostitute?

He wasn't just a pimp, he was a pusher. Look how strung out his gals were when they needed the venus drug.

Hmmmm...was the venus drug somethign to get them high, or was that a drug to make them more beautiful so Big Poppa could get more cha-ching???

Seemed like both--those ladies were writhing about in agony when in withdrawal, then luxuriating like well-rested kitty cats after he gave it to them. In a deleted scene, he offers some to Uhura. Maybe he was trying to turn her out, more likely he was just pushin'.

Of course, a point Trek was making was that women (and men) get high off being found attractive. The extreme power the venis drug gave Mudd's women was no doubt a very high high (sic) indeed.

For that matter, he had a private robotic seraglio when he made his repeat appearance. Harry Mudd knew how to live the good life and slip a lot of innuendo past the censors with a sly wink, that's for sure.

Y'know, I wonder what was going on in the 23rd and 24th Centuries that made them such horny bastard???

Same thing that's been going on to make us such horny bastards since the monkeymen first found the monolith--

Ooops, wrong SF universe.

(RIP, ACC)

Well, with that said, maybe we can understand why Mudd was never chared for being a pimp. Perhaps the Fedeartion was far more free market that we might expect. I wonder what Bones had in his hypo for STDs?

Bones " Jim, I've only got enough antibiotics for a 5 year mission so give it a rest OK?"

Hey, I do my best...but pimpin' ain't easy. So I'd like you all to meet my protege:
