Great story. As I said, really enjoyed the concept. Trujillo, one of the greatest soldiers of her generation, not just battling contemporary foes, but also taking on the enemy’s of the future. The execution was also splendid as was the dialogue and prose, as per usual.
The ending was a classic self fulfilling prophecy and I was glad to see that Chester and J'tris made it through the war, with the scars to prove it.
My only minor gripe may have been Trujillo's peculiar moment of reflection that war may not be something to ask for after all. Something I feel she should have known long before meeting people from the future. Maybe she did so intellectually but never really put the pieces together in her mind.
Regardless, real fun story, probably one of my favorite Reykjavik tales so far.
