Problem these days is the world is changed by corporations and governments pandering for the sake of profit and maintaining their status at the top. It's why Congress has turned into a cross between a old folks home and mental asylum. Why Corporations wage war on free speech and worker rights, out of fear someone might get so offended or they loose stock value that they stop buying their products.
That's because politics has become the new religion for so many people. They put so much self worth in these rich corrupt assholes who don't care one fig about them. Which I guess is not to different from old religion as well. I mean has the Vatican ever cared about anything other than maintaining it's power as just one example. Sure didn't have much issues with pedophile priests for a long time.

Soon as their is profit that can be made from the outrage. It also depends on whether or not people will be foolish enough like The Shat Man to take the bait. He got triggered and went snowflake over something that doesn't matter other than to the people trying to profit off the outrage.
