Highlander Reboot/Prequel Anticipation Thread

While I love Henry, isn't there an actual Scotsman that can take the roll? Havent we moved past this thing of not casting character accurate actors in roles?? I mean I Really want an actual egyptian as Ramirez..

As mentioned earlier in this topic.....
A big part of the appeal of Lambert in the part, is that he was just learning English. He wasn't that fluent just yet. It gave him a accent, that while trying to be Scottish became all over the place......
Like a man who has lived across the world during many different centuries. My German has a Dutch twang, while my English can go all over the place if I want to. Because I am Dutch and learned English and its forms as a child. The idea of someone that has lived for centuries having a accent that is born of many languages makes more sense than someone speaking the exact some language for centuries.

But did you know that 42,7% of all statistics are made up on the spot?

That to me is very hard to answer, but also kinda proofs your point. Most of the movie lovers I know are in my age category, and whether or not they liked it, have heard of Top Gun, Grease, Breakfast Club and Highlander. Because we all grew up with it. We may not all share opinions on the movies, but we know of them.
Are Grease and Top Gun really that well known still?
I think so, grease especially, it still gets plenty of attention, certainly in the UK Is popular with outdoor summer cinema events

There is a version of highlander 2 where the aliens from zeist is edited out, never seen it so don't know if makes it any better or not.
Watching it now, its almost the same.

Meh.

From an unspecified past, for example 80 thousand years ago, when man kind was immortal and had lasers, they send their political prisoners to the distant future.

I mean, they don't say it, but if anytime you execute a political prisoner, their politics leap inside you and change your perspective, it's inadvisable to kill your enemies, although if all you got to be is 500 feet away from the corpse, you can murder a bus load of people with thoughts you never want to corrupt your soul, and sleep justly.

Top Gun’s recent-ish sequel was absolutely massive, so I’d say that’s a resounding yes anyway.

Yeah, TG Maverick made Avengers money. The only reason it wasn't the highest grossing film of the year (by half a billion) is because Avatar came out that year, too.

Grease has also had some kind tv show recently, though no clue if it was popular.

The original holds a very near and dear place in my heart. I own multiple versions of it (even the Russian dubbed version). I remember going into H:2 with high hopes. I took my girlfriend at the time, who had seen the original, but wasn't a huge fan. The look on her face when we left the theater was, well... A mix of quizzical and bewilderment. LOL. There are moments of the movie that I still enjoy, but overall, renegade version or not, I'd rather forget about it.

H:3 had potential, and paid tribute to the first movie, but was still basically a rehash of the first and an excuse to give Lambert a steamy love scene. Endgame, especially the directors cut, I think of more fondly. I still enjoy watching it and Connor's death had me teary-eyed. Yes, it had many problems, but the flashback scenes with some of the original's cast were nice to see.

Like most, I dislike the first season of the show, but when they moved production to Paris, it got much better. Roger Daltry's character was a lot of fun!

From Krypton to Zeist. I hope it works out for him. Poor guy keeps getting screwed out of roles from evil studios.

Prequel set 5 years before the classic movie, about a nerd who wants to be cool, so she starts a pretend gang of dangerous girls.

I actually quite liked the raven series. Amanda was a good character

Yep, Amanda is a decent actor and the series was okay. I'm still questioning the choice of cutting off all that lovely black hair giving her a bleached white buzz cut in a show called "Raven."

Highlander season 5: Well, at least it gave us a Claudia Christian episode!

I gave up on Highlander after season one, because of girls and beer.

So this is still a chink in my nerd cred.

I just found this out, but I assume you've know for decades...

Raven is set in an alternate universe where Duncan was never born.

Therefore Evil mirror universe Amanda has evil mirror universe hair

WTF?

It's a spin off from a show that does not exist?

I suppose that's the same deal as Star Trek Discovery?

I have never heard that before. I didn't pay much attention to it because I didn't like it but that is news to me.
