Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

has anyone received even a shipping notice for their magazines yet?

I’m pretty patient but it’s been nearly a month since they put them up for order and I haven’t heard a peep.

Only a month? At this point that's still early days...

Got a pretty quick answer back to my email. I was assured they will get to it asap. But they have been doing inventory in their warehouse and that’s what the delay is.

MR discovering what Eaglemoss - and any other shop, military force and country in existence - already knew: logistics is much harder than you think it is.

Modding project:
In the Star Trek Online mission “Battle of Wolf 359”, you don’t see you ship because you receive a holographic “camouflage” that makes you vessel look like a historic ship from the battle, like the USS Kumari (Cheyenne class), USS Princeton, etc.
If you fly a Galaxy-class ship (or variant), you can use its Saucer Separation console and it works on the holograms!
I have therefore approached a craftsman friend of mine to try and saw the Eaglemoss USS Ahwahnee model along the separation lines. He says you can only save either sauger or secondary hull in the process due to the sawing and filing, so we’ll use two Eaglemoss models to get both hulls. This is exciting!

IIRC, they did a similar thing with cloaking "future" ships in period holographic designs for the old DSC "Battle of the Binary Stars" TFO from a couple years back. Makes sense and adds to the realism of the scene. I fly a Cnidarian jellyfish ship (and used to fly an Enterprise-J before that) and those would look bigly awkward against those tiny older ships. You're also nerfed, as there is no way a 23rd century Klingon ship could ever last longer than two seconds with the more advanced 24th & 32nd century monsters we have running around out there.

I've been wondering which Star Trek and Stargate models are similar in scale, and these are the best matches I could find:

GM9rTLk.jpeg

F-302 1:130, Type 9 Shuttle 1:122

Voyager 1:2541, Prometheus 1:2878, XL Enterprise E 1:2537

I love scale comparisons! I don’t mind that the models have to fit the size of the box but it’s amazing how have two ships that “work” size-wise.

An old ship modification:
(Background: I used to think there’s a hexagonal, purple focusing crystal at the front but apparently there isn’t).

Yeah, I got mine for that order as well today. I think i still have two more outstanding (one before the D5 order plus my magazines).

Leftover Husker variants are offered to be purchased!]
Checking eBay, they don't seem as rare as I thought they'd be.

I finally got a tracking number for the D5 tanker!!! Technically the Royal Mail site (let alone Canada Post) doesn't recognize the number yet, but hopefully they will soon. At least it's something.

That happens a lot. Enough that I've learned to give it 48 hours or so without panicking.

Must have been a big shipping day for them. I got notification that my mags are finally on their way. Curious to see if they ship faster than the ships.

Seems like it would have made sense to ship my magazines in with the starship order. Considering that MR has flat rate shipping, I'm a little surprised don't try and combine orders, but I don't think they have the logistical capability to manage it.

I've asked them about combining orders before and apparently it causes problems with their payment system if they do that. Also, not everything is coming from the same physical location.

Also, speaking professionally, doing things like that on a case by case basis is going to almost immediately lead to Problems, you need to have all your systems set up to handle that before you start messing.
