Why would Amazon be involved at all? It would mean Paramount have given up on their own streaming service outside the US.
I think its related to Amazon being the international distributor of Star Trek.
If Star Trek Legacy happens it will mean a lot more than than random YT stumbling in to a truth.
It's not going to make me take them more seriously. YT is an unearned platform that doesn't warrant much when it comes to news.
They carried Picard and Lower Decks until Paramount+ launched, but I didn't think they were involved anymore.
We'd be back where we were in 2017 when Netflix commissioned Disco (back then, Disco streamed on both Netflix and CBS All Access).
If there IS something going on behind the scenes that Terry isn't permitted to discuss, it would explain his deer-caught-in-the-headlights behavior recently (The SixScaleMafia interview, the Hollywood Food Coalition event

You seriously under estimate the value of Youtube and the value of citizen journalism. Yes you have to filter out the BS, but that is true of main stream medua as well.
They held onto Picard S3 and it's still on there. I don't think LD is on Amazon anymore though.
I see no reason to value something when it's just "my sources say." type scoops. That is more like tabloid journalism claiming to have inside information from Buckingham palace.
I enjoy YouTube for a lot of things. News is not one of them.

I think Legacy will happen in some form or fashion, no doubt. But I think the details this guy has are completely off and I have no reason to trust him. Looking at his videos, and remembering the few I've watched, there's a lot of crap rumormongering there that never amounted to much of anything. Anyone can say that they have a source. What makes him better?
I agree, but YouTubers need far more immediate incentives to operate in good faith. Otherwise supporters can easily just become marks.

Fandom is truly bizarre sometimes.
Sports fandom is full of speculation, armchair quarterbacking, and rumors, so it makes sense that would also happen in any other fandom where critical mass exists.
If it makes you feel any better, several YouTubers have said covering Star Trek is now a loss leader. Apathy has set in. Apparently even very pro-NuTrek (well, minus PICARD season 3 after the fact) creators like TrekCulture have seen their numbers drop.
But at the same time, demand for new (subjectively good) Star Trek exceeds the supply of new (subjectively good) Star Trek. Hence why you still have pieces coming out about PICARD season 3 and articles to various degrees of clickbait about what the odds of Legacy happening under the conditions of the month.
Doesn't make it less bizarre. It's a ridiculous behavior rewarded by click bait and people propagating supposedly hidden knowledge.

I don't like a lot of Trek but I don't run videos out stating random rumors about Trek series supposedly coming out and rumor mongering.
It's just weird. Weirder still is the amount of stock put in to it.
