Russell T. Davies Returns to Doctor Who as New Showrunner

They had for bloody ever to get their ducks in a row, ahead of time — as they are showing by shooting so much — but this is where we end up. Allegedly. It’s possible RTD works better with the limited scope of short or one and done series, and despite his work bringing the show back, possibly isn’t all that suited to Who.
To mess up one lead actors exit on a show is one thing, if he’s managed again — well, I guess lessons haven’t been learnt.
Say what you like about Moff, and even Chris Chibnall, but no one got screwed over on their watch. And even the Moff managed to find his cast some clothes in their intros…
Should have got Mark Gatiss perhaps. And a separate producer role for someone who can handle that.

"Doctor Who YouTuber" aren't words that fill me with confidence but let's say for the sake of argument that she was let go, that's the opposite of the Eccleston situation not a repeat of it.

Plus given that Varada is joining with Episode One, and has been shooting for months already, the change clearly wasn't a sudden decision. So why then is Millie coming back at all, let alone for multiple episodes, given that the mystery of her origin will almost certainly be wrapped up at the end of S14/S1?

RTD usually has the sense to get ahead of things before cast are spotted on location. And a companion leaving after a year isn’t unusual. On the other hand, something should be announced in order to prevent fallout, I imagine.

Read up on it, and apparently it’s completely different. ‘You are erase from Doctor who’ is not quite the same as ‘I will erase you’ and it looks like it was to do with executive meddling at the BBC, with no mention of any affair. Which is…. Quite a different tale.

It’s pretty against the known character of Moff. I know they say you can never tell, but in this case, it sounds like a nonsense. May as well suggest Ncuti and RTD are a thing, if we’re just gonna throw it around. (I mean there were enough about JNT and Waterhouse once upon a time.) Or Barrowman.
