Remember when people said that DIS was a failure, the series was being canceled and that the announcement of new seasons was just a feint so as not to upset the shareholders? It's definitely something I've noticed recently where people who don't like something declare it a failure regardless of how it actually performed.
We live in a world where people no longer understand the difference between personal opinion and objective reality.
Whether a series is a "failure" or not depends on many factors, many of which are simply unknown to the general public and which probably only studio accountants know.
