DC Cinematic Universe ( The James Gunn era)

WoT is next on my reading list.
You're in for a fantastic reading experience, Commander Troi. At risk of raising your expectations perilously high, I will tell you I think it's one of the small handful of best standalone graphic novels DC has ever published -- I'm talking top-five stuff, easily. (I'd put The Human Target in the same category. At this rate, King is in danger of having the whole list to himself.)

What is WoT? When I try to Google it, I just get World of Tanks.

I only know Alcock, and her only from House of the Dragon. Not sure I would pick her based on that role, but her performance was good, just a very different character to Kara.

Based on my Internet journeys since Deadline's story was posted, she appears to be the favorite pick among fans.

Kai "the spy" posted this casting news in the old DC movies thread, but I think it really belongs here:
Anya Chalotra has been cast as Circe, making her first appearance in the Creature Commandos animated series. Chalotra is best known as Yennefer of Vengerberg in Netflix's The Witcher series.

Circe, supposed to be the same as the enchantress from Homer's Odyssey, is one of the foremost Wonder Woman villains, one of the most powerful magic users in the DC Universe.

The last time I posted something like this it didn't generate much interest -- and admittedly, it's fairly substance-free -- but FWIW, here's Rachel Brosnahan again briefly discussing Superman: Legacy:

ETA: And another red carpet interview here. (I'm not able to find a version I can embed.) Brosnahan promises that Legacy's Superman will have a sense of humor, and describes her Lois as "feisty," "marvelous," and "fiercely intelligent."

DCU Supergirl casting update from The Hollywood Reporter. (Here's hoping their sources are better this time than their last quickly-debunked DCU casting "scoops" -- even James Gunn said he was surprised they got that report so wrong.)
The search for Supergirl is one step closer to completion.

Screen tests for the role took place yesterday, according to several sources, with the field now narrowed to two actresses.

Milly Alcock, best known for her work on HBO’s Game of Thrones spinoff House of the Dragon as Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen, and Meg Donnelly, who starred in Disney Channel’s hit musical franchise Zombies and who voices the character in recent and current DC animated movies, both tested in Atlanta, per sources. DC Studios bosses James Gunn and Peter Safran were present.

I just rewatched The Flash the other night, my first revisit since my initial theatrical viewing. It reminds me how exciting it is to see Supergirl on the big (or small) screen. I still think Sasha Calle was done dirty, but I'm nonetheless excited about this new casting. And presumably it means Kara will at least cameo in Superman: Legacy, since I doubt they would be casting the character this early otherwise -- an assumption the THR article appears to support.

The article also says an actress named Cailee Spaeny was previously in the casting mix, the first I've heard of her having been a candidate.

First I've heard of her period. Apparently she played Priscilla Presley in a movie. The guy who play Elvis in the same movie hosted SNL last week. I'd never heard of him either,
