NFL 2023: A different shade of green for Aaron Rodgers

The Lions turned back into....themselves against the Packers.

No matter the records any given year, I still say screw the same teams playing on Thanksgiving year after year. Detroit has sucked for years, one good season doesn't justify the acid reflux they cause on this most holiest of days.

Not sure who’s going to win the Washington-Dallas game. They’re both sucking bigly right now.
Dallas is starting to suck a little less. 38-10 Cowboys in the 4th. Good teams adapt.

Pick6, 45-10. You were saying?

45-10 is your final.

Thanksgiving Cowboys and Lions is one of those traditions I hope never goes away. Even though the Lions have been so bad for so long (but I really do think this iteration has a shot) and I despise the Cowboys... it's just a good tradition.

I remember him because he played for Steve fucking Spurrier at Florida. Had no idea he ever played for the Titans.

See, I was the reverse. I was in an "anti-UT" hipster mood around then and not paying attention to who they played against, so I had no idea where Kearse came from (I couldn't watch the draft, and only vaguely paid attention to what college any of them came from). But damn did I love him as a TItan. Come to find out later, well... oh well.

Derrick Henry on the other hand, I sure know where he came from... :barf2:

But as a Titan? Love the dude.

Seahawks are 5-1 to-date in the dayglo, full lime-green Oregon-Duckish unis. I sense a 5-2 record after tonight. Niners just got an INT up 14-3.

Still, better than the Bears 6-6 record in those orange abortions.

CMc makes it 20-3 (21-3 SF now). One of, if not "the", most effective acquisitions in recent NFL history.

31-13 is your final. The Seahawks are who we thought they were.

Commanders fire DC Jack Del Rio.

Rearranging the deck chairs on the Titanic. I'm sure Rivera knows he's a dead man walking. He can make the (absolutely legitimate) excuse that he had to deal with the Snyders' fuckery for so many years and therefore he was hamstrung right from the get, but I imagine the Harris ownership group is going to want their own guy running the show. I figure the only reason they haven't shitcanned him yet is because there's no real reason to go the interim coach route; there isn't a hot name in the coaching market yet, and Rivera hasn't lost the locker room yet since his players love him.

From my perspective, they should've fired Rivera and Del Rio, and promoted Eric Bienemy to interim-HC. See if he has the chops to run an organization. Though they may simply not be interested in giving Bienemy a shot.

How bad of a team must you be when your a halftime hail mary gets returned for a touchdown?
Holland only had fat guys and the Jets QB in front of him for 99 yards until a WR got close at the end.

34-13 is bad, but take away the pick-6 Tua threw.....

You fire the head coach and go the interim route if A) the team is a complete disaster, like the Raiders under McDaniels, and you still have an outside shot at a wild card run, or B) if you have the chance to jump the gun on a hot assistant and promote him before someone else can poach him. Bieniemy's star has fallen quite a bit, and the Commanders are staring a 2- to 3-year rebuild in the face. The team loves Rivera, so I don't really see the harm in letting him play out the string.

I don't think I've ever seen a hail mary pick 6 before. That was wild to end the half of today's game.

I also hope Al Michaels retires soon. That call lacked the proper excitement it should have had. Get Ian Eagle to do it next season or something (Or one of the lower tiered CBS guys like Archuleta or Dedes).

Damn, Jake Browning is the 50th QB to start a game this season.

And of those 50, 10 are rookies (Levis, Hall, Tune, Bagent, Stroud, Young, O'Connell, Richardson, Thompson-Robinson, DeVito), which is a record.

The NFL has problems that are only going to get worse. Lack of practice time, defenses getting smarter and already have watered down the defensive rules to a point they really can’t change anything else without watering down the game to a point it would amount to flag football.

Three and a half minutes left in the Cincinnati/Pittsburgh game, and the Bengals have run 37 plays.

AJ McCarron would do better than Jake Browning for the Bengals.

Mac Jones keeps getting benched yet still starts the next game. When are they going to stop doing this and just move on?
