NFL 2023: A different shade of green for Aaron Rodgers

NFL forever at this point for me haha.

But yeah, I'm really glad Dobbs is getting a real shot after all this time. And of course in that first posession last night he fumbled the ball - because of an illegal hit that wasn't flagged from a guy who had just come back from a suspension for the same thing.

And was a former BAMA player. Don't forget the most important part. Poor guy was allowed to do that to Josh and every other QB in Tuscaloosa and doesn't understand why it's not allowed now.

And my condolences if you're stuck following the Titans forever.

The NFL is boring and soulless compared to college. They need 100 more Dobbs. And more than KC and the Vikings running offenses with any creativity.

Last year they had all these nationwide games scheduled for Russell Wilson and this year it was Aaron Rodgers. Which team/player are they going to gamble on next year and fail miserably?

CJ Stroud. He’ll either get hurt or have a sophomore slump.

Are you saying they scheduled tv slots around a player/personality? Not around region, team success, stakes etc?

Oh jesus, that was the piece of I was missing. UT players/superstars aside, I often forget where a player was in college, so I had no idea.

I've been a Titans fan since Bud Adams up stakes and moved to Memphis, to be honest, back when I didn't know what a dick he was and was just really excited to have a 'local' team. I remember riding the school bus and hearing the radio talk about the different potential names for them when they dropped the Oilers moniker; I was a fan of the Copperheads nickname, but I was happy enough when they ended up going with Titans. Steve McNair and Eddie George and Frank Wychek will always be football heroes of mine. Even Jevon Kearse, speaking of people I totally forgot where they went to college.

So safe to say I'll aways be a Titans fan. ;) But when things are tough, I've got my Eagles too since half my family are Philly fans haha.

See, I just don't see that at all. There may be systems in place that work, but when they're executed well, the offenses sing. Just look at the Dolphins this year. And however bad some teams may get in the NFL, you'll never see an "Alabama vs UT-Chatanooga" situation where the big boys pay a million dollars for a win.

The tv slots bid for the "big" games and big names yeah. Team success would be the biggest factor and then rivalries and stakes would be a factor. What he's saying is QBs that have proven they can move the needle with their star power (because of being damned good) were big draws for the primetime games, and I think that's fair. For sure the NFL were very happy to have the Eagles and Chiefs on Monday Night Football between it being a Superbowl rematch, the Kelce brothers facing off again, and maybe even some Taylor Swift talk (sadly she was busy killing her fans in Brazil).

How do we explain Bears @ Vikings this coming Monday night?

I doubt Cousins (is he even playing?) or Fields could be called big names, or either team as particularly successful.

I too will always have a soft spot for the Titans.

Monday Night Football is now an after thought for the NFL. ESPN gives the NFL billions and only gets a couple of good games per year. Sunday Night Football is their weekly big event.

St. Louis should also be proof to other cities that they can survive without giving billions to the rich for their toys.

SNF week 1, Cowboys @ Giants. Giants have sucked for years
Week 6, Giants @ Bills. Same problem.
Week 8, Bears @ Chargers. Da Bears, 'nuff said.
Week 10, Jets @ Raiders. Yeah, probably based on the draw of Rodgers.

Sure, it's near impossible to predict a good team going to shit, but those teams and some others on SNF have been atrocious for a while.

Giants were a playoff team last year, Chargers have Herbert and should be far better than they are, Bears were expecting Fields to make a leap.
