Spoilers Marvel Cinematic Universe spoiler-heavy speculation thread

What grade would you give the Marvel Cinematic Universe? (Ever-Changing Question)

Top tier: Captain America, Shang Chi, Spider-Man, Black Widow, Daredevil, Dr. Strange
Second Tier: Black Panther, Iron Man, Thor, Hulk, Star Lord, Falcon, Hawkeye
Third tier: Ant Man, Wasp, Scarlet Witch, Vision.

Am indifferent to Captain Marvel.

Good list. Shang chi was the best origin movie since iron man and Carol is overhated

The only origin film I would consider as great is 2014's "Guardians of the Galaxy". I can't say much for the two films that followed. I'm not so sure about "Black Panther". Was it an origin film, considering he had first appeared in "Civil War"? If it was, then I would select "Guardians of the Galaxy" and "Black Panther" as the two best origin movies. There are three origin films that I regard as slightly below those two - "Captain America: The First Avenger", "Ant-Man" and "Captain Marvel". I don't regard them as great or among the best of the franchise, but I do like them a lot.

Plus some got triggered by Larson due to her rather basic statement about diversity in film criticism.

Frankly, I believe that says a lot more about them than Brie Larson. And it's not good, in my opinion.

The only major reason the "fans" hated on Carol so much was that she wasn't there from Phases 1 or 2 and she didn't start out as a secondary character like Natasha and Wanda did.

And why did Captain Marvel have to start out as a secondary character like Scarlet Witch and Black Widow? Or Princess Shuri, for that matter? Because she is a woman?

I didn't think Guardians counted as an Origin per se. I didn't like ant Man 1 that much because I thought it's villains were too derivative and it wasted the female characters. TFA was reasonable but not exactly exciting and its villain was also bland. Both had better sequels, so I'd say Captain Marvel was better

Not good at all. And they're still at it with the marvels

Because the guy running the mcu back then was reported to oppose female and non-White leads because they "didn't sell well". Yet we know that's untrue. And tbh Carol is still more interesting than Natasha anwyays

Some sources are spreading rumours about the post-credits scene for "The Marvels"

Kelsey Grammer returns as Beast, and is studying incursions & multiverse stuff. This is to tie into Deadpool 3 where the Fox Universe gets destroyed etc.

She did have her own movie eventually, and it was pretty good. Not everyone needs their own origin story.

Although I'd love to see an origin movie about Happy Hogan :D

Eventually is not good enough.

And who is Happy Hogan? Why should he get a movie?

Honestly, she should have gotten a movie much faster, but it really isn't weird that the MCU started with Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and the Hulk. Out of the characters they were using, those were the names they had the most reason to have faith in. And I don't think there's anything wrong with the crossover movie including heroes that haven't had a movie of their own yet. She's not even close to the only character who's been in that situation.

There was definitely sexist bs going on bts at the time, but if there had not been sexist bs going on that way I still would not have expected a Black Widow movie right off the bat. The more logical way to make phase 1 more diverse would've been to use more popular characters like Captain Marvel, Scarlet Witch, and/or She-hulk from the beginning.
