Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

I'm not too familiar with a lot of this kind of thing when it comes to show business. I wouldn't presume to write off anyone's high-profile romance as purely a PR stunt. But, whether a celebrity romance is actually real or not, if the parties involved are media-savvy, then there is definitely some care put into the way the whole thing is presented to the public eye. NPR's "It's Been a Minute" podcast did this story a couple weeks ago: "Real relationship aside, Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce are 100% in a PR relationship."

Although this is arguably a fluff piece, NPR is generally not known for far-fetched speculative conspiracy stuff, and they interviewed a public relations expert here.

Thank you for the insight. I guess that does help to answer the question of what would be in it for Taylor Swift. And I can certainly agree that celebrities might present themselves publicly in a certain way in accordance with their PR rep, and I can also believe that they would extend that imaging to their relationships.

I do think, though, that it's a big leap from there, to assuming that the relationship isn't even real, and is just basically an extended curated media event. But of course, I don't--and will never--walk in those celebrity circles. And I refer you also to that previously mentioned naïveté. :)

This discussion of PR relationships makes me think of the recent news about Will and Jada Pinkett Smith. She recently admitted they've been separated for (I think) 7 years, even though they've been playing the happily married couple this whole time.

I'm watching Roswell for the first time and I got spoiled on something that's going to happen in a future season by a Battlestar Galactica podcast Ron Moore did in 2006. And I'm not mad or anything, I just find the whole fascinating, like in 2006 Roswell is in the past but here in 2023 Roswell is in my future. :D

Tbh I never really got into that show, watched a few episodes but really didn't get hooked at all. Is it worth persisting and trying the whole thing or is it mostly teen angst?

At the moment it is mostly teen angst with some alien stuff, but because I never watched it back then but I was also in high school at the same time I get this nice nostalgia thing that kinda makes up for shortcomings, sort of like how it felt watching Buffy or Dawson's Creek. I hear Season 2 gets better, which is where Ron Moore joins in. Or you could try Roswell, New Mexico, which is the modern remake of the books and is intended for young adult audience as opposed to teens I believe.

Caught a mouse in a trap this morning and it reminded me of a former neighbor who caught mice and released them and people told him that those mice came right back in his house. So he still caught mice but he started to paint their tails with nail polish to see if they did return. A few did.

Do you have snakes?

I once owned a home, where the previous owner sprayed for everything. I didn’t. And the snakes took care of the rodents.

At first I read that as caught a moose in a trap, and that made for a very different story.

Red light.

Half hour of no screens before bed.

Laying on your stomach and fold your hands in front of you to put pressure on your forehead.

Cherry juice if you have it can support some melatonin production.

Take a shower and cool the body. This can trigger the body's natural sleep response.

Heard on Bloomberg that she’s now a billionaire.

I have a red light bulb somewhere.

There are snakes outside (and maybe under the house, but I've never seen them) and there are 3 outside kitties, so you'd think the mice would be on the run.
