Villanova is beating Siena in the psychology game right now. Siena just cannot seem to take care of the ball, and when they DO get it... they just can't seem to settle it down. 'Nova is playing very well, very disciplined. Siena is all over the place and mentally does not look like they are in the game. When their forward missed a gimme lay-in, then got the ball back on a steal and missed another lay-in.....

The more I see of this D.J. Augustine for Texas, the more convinced I become that he deserves the accolades his been getting. He plays under control, willing to change his role to what his team needs, does not turn the ball over..... the guy is a beautiful point guard!

Edit:
Texas holds off Miami ... and man when Augustine missed that first free throw... I don't think I've ever seen one whiff in front of the rim. Miami has a bright future in front of them. But the Longhorns got over a big hurdle today.

Tennessee over Butler... that sucks, because I had Butler. Maybe it's because I'm not quite convinced how good Tennessee is, or maybe it's because I find Pearl annoying.

But Davidson slays Goliath... Georgetown!!! I loved that one!!! Curry looks so frail out there, but he was not shying away from any of the Hoya thuggery.

Let me tell you, D.J. Augustin is the real deal. I've seen him up close and personal crapping all over the Cowboys and Sooners twice this season. Texas is solid.

Davidson. :cardie: My sweet sixteen is so screwed it isn't even funny. I had Butler in the sweet sixteen. My brackets are so screwed. No Butler, Drake and Connecticut both gone. Pitt gone. Duke gone. I had Duke losing in the round of sixteen.

I SUCK!!!

:scream:

I still have 6 of my elite 8 left.

Georgetown? Duke? What the &%@#$?!?!?!

My Final Four is still intact, but the Elite Eight is starting to quiver, and the Sweet Sixteen has taken a big hit.

Man I hope Mississippi St wins, and for two reasons. One... Joey Dorsey is alright but he's nowhere near as good as he thinks he is. And two.... wouldn't
it be fun to see MSU vs MSU (Michigan St)?

UNC is tearing up a game Arkansas team at half, leading by 25. Ty Lawson is completely healed, Hansbrough is having fun, but it's Ellington that impresses me the most.

I can't believe my entire Elite 8 is still intact. Davidson beat Georgetown today. Who saw that one coming. :wtf:

UNC destroyed a good Arkansas team today, in every facet possible. Then Louisville goes out and almost does the same thing to pretty solid Oklahoma team. Sure runs counter to what was happening earlier in other games.

Pity that Memphis had to win, though. :p

Let's see here... I have two left in my sweet sixteen, and the same two left in my elite eight. Wouldn't you know it, though, I have them facing eachother, so I have one team surviving to the final four. And then I'm out.

I still have 3 of my final four. Though I'm 18 points behind the max possible total that anybody has, so things slowly are getting to the point where they will have to fall just right for me to be in it at the end.

Miami really put up a good show today. Not bad for the team picked to finish last in the ACC this year.

They were picked to finish last? Man... their coach has done a pretty darned good job, then. They seem to have some seniors, but still a pretty good core of talent coming back. I got a kick out of the Coach/Mentor angle today. It wasn't the least bit overplayed, just mentioned a few times and that was it.

The scariest thing about North Carolina... they started three sophs and two juniors, today.

I'm still in good shape. 7 out of the Elite 8 still in it, and all of the Final Four. I'm currently 3 points off of the lead, and have more possible points than a few people above me, so in a decent spot...

I have 7 of the Elite 8, and my Final Four is intact. After the first round I find myself lucky to be in a tie for 2nd place. I lost a lot in that round, but the right teams won in the second. Losing Georgetown hurts a little, but I had Wisconsin beating them anyway so maybe they'll match up well with Davidson.

Marquee game next week? Washington State versus North Carolina. The defense that held Winthrop to 11 in the first half and stuffed Notre Dame faces the offense that laid over a hundred on its first two opponents. Which will budge first, the unstoppable force or the immovable object?

Yep - picked for dead last this year. They made a decent showing in the ACC tourney last year with good defense and they obviously got much better this year. Last two times Miami started to build up, the coaches left for the NBA (where they failed huge). I'm hoping Haith sticks around to keep 'em moving in the right direction. McClinton is a hell of a player - 32 points in the second half against St. Mary's.

Similarly, ole Bruce Pearl has done a great job at Tennessee after several coaches had pretty much buried the team in mediocrity for most of the last 20 years. We used to bitch about Don DeVoe when he was coach. Little did we know, that relative to the next 15-17 years, those were the glory years. LOL

You're sitting pretty good right now.

Not so good for me- I'm in trouble on both the TrekBBS and my money board. Last year I won both, but there's little chance of a repeat on either this year.

Well I've dropped into the lower half of our pool but I'm not out yet.
6 of my Elite 8 are still in play and I am the only one to pick the UT Volunteers to win it all so that gives me a unique one up if it plays out.

The South Region I only missed 1 game so I feel good overall, lots of ties in our standings still.

If Tennessee wins, you're likely the winner by a 20 point margin (according to the scenario generator). If all my picks are right the rest of the way, I'll squeak to the title by 6 points. If all higher seeds win, Scout will take it, if all lower seeds win, RevDMV will take it with a very low point total.

well, I gotta like that the 'default' (i.e. higher seeds) results has me winning. Makes it pretty decent odds that I'm at least gonna finish fairly high up there...
