Oh! I know what I forgot to ask! Did Peters ever manage to get Axanar Productions or Ares Studios or whatever registered as a real non-profit, or is that still all smoke and mirrors?

I think it's about time we looked on the positives of this lunatic being the 'producer' for this abomination.

I'm hoping for some script re-writes that now include references to some of the bat-shit beliefs the guy touts online and around the world. Does everyone recall the anecdotes about Gene trying to shoe-horn some of his IDIC merch into TOS? I'm thinking along those lines but a million times more contrived, cynical and just plain ridiculous.

It's actually a good move for this Lanyon guy and his Children of the Everlasting Mooch (or whatever they're called) too as the Axa-faithful are prime marks for them - they're all pretty dumb, gullible, and open to just about anything as long there's the promise of something, anything in the future, (about 30 days usually).

So, yes, I'm looking forward to the Fall '23 season of Axanar immensely.

Hah, it's definitely a good sign that this news about Axanar being taken over by an Internet Jim Jones doesn't raise anywhere near as much attention as it would've a few years back. It shows nobody really cares anymore, the only people being taken for a ride now are the terminally stupid.

From the Facebook posts of the cult leader Gudni Gudnason, it seems they might be doing a feature film.

It's gonna be LOADED with Mystery Whatever School propaganda, it might be the funniest thing ever. Imagine Garth giving a speech, converting the entire Klingon Empire and ending the war.

That's how L. Ron Hubbard got rolling. Start small with the books and grow it up into Dianetics and Scientology. It's a proven growth model. All they need to do is avoid mass suicides and they'll be fine.

How much anyone wanna bet one or more of the Axanar principles are members of the... "congregation"? Only way I can think of that they got this dude involved.

Every time I think it can't get worse...

Life finds a way...

There is a Philip Lanyon that has worked as a cinematographer on Discovery and Picard. From his imdb photo, there is at least a slight resemblance.

I wonder...

Ok, assuming this is true and not even more fiction from that Lane guy, how long should it take to put it all together an release it in some form? I know nothing about these things but I know there's lot's of folk on here that have worked and still work on these projects, what would be a reasonable time-frame for it to see the light of day?
