VERY SHORT TREKS...

Dunno about anyone else but I took 'Bill' as a nod to Shatner.

I haven't paid close enough attention to spot the other errors!

They say they made PRO to appeal to 9-year-olds, but I actually think this show is the quintessential Trek for those of that age. Male ones, especially.

Close call for the Federation on that one.

An alien race that invented warp drive before facial tissues.

They missed a trick by not having the Redshirt shake that hand!

I wondered what the gag would be, and it turned out to be mine! Ewwwww.

"Look! Gorn invaders!" TOS phaser sound...:guffaw:

Michael Dorn pats him on the head and says "Sure, Jonny. Whatever you say."
No, that was was DS9. Dorn wasn't on TOS in any capacity.
JONATHAN FRAKES: "Not only did I do seven seasons of TNG, I even did a whole episode of DS9."
MICHARL DORN (pats him on head): "Sure, Jonny, whatever you say."

Riker was referred to as "Bill" in a couple of early TNG episodes, so not really an error
It's still a kinda-sorta error homage, as the characters here are from at least season three, when the 'Bill' was long gone. Plus 'Bill' was only ever a Deanna thing.

Yeah, I think they put in some deliberate quirks to increase the fan chatter these things would generate. There's nothing worse than having your project pass by undiscussed.

It ended up that way because she was the only one who used it before they dropped it, but it was originally intended to be what everyone called him. Probably because Roddenberry basically recycled the name from Willliam T. "Bill" Rice, the lead character of his first TV series The Lieutenant.

It was only used twice, in "The Naked Now" and "Haven", both very, very early TNG. And only by Deanna. Despite it being used officially on screen, it can easily be seen as a goof, like Data's graduating year in "Encounter at Farpoint".

I wouldn't eat fresh fish, with the eyes still attached.

How about lutefisk? My dad's more-or-less half Norwegian, and has never been able to get that particular Nordic delicacy past his nose.

Then again, I've never been able to get any kind of seafood past my nose.

They're just harmless silliness. And they're not canon, so no harm done. It's like me asking where do Lower Deckers throw their dirty uniforms? Into the Peanut Hamper. Ha ha ha, laugh if you find it funny, or don't, that's fine too. Then, forget about it.

Omg I love that. Thank you.

Yes it's harmless and a fun thing to do to celebrate TAS. They are a little bit of good to look forward to each week,

Where did this bizarre notion come from that canon is the one and only thing that matters in evaluating fiction? Whether a work of fiction is "real" or not isn't even a meaningful question. It doesn't matter in the slightest. What matters is whether it's good, whether it's appropriate for what it's supposed to be, whether it treats its subject matter with respect. This is probably the most ill-conceived "celebration" of Star Trek since "These Are the Voyages."
