Extended scene from "The Enemy Within" - ??

Looking at this new eBay listing ... is it possible "The Enemy Within" transporter room scene had extra footage that still exists?

I'm too lazy to compare the aired episode with the photos in the listing (and too poor to even think about buying this film). I don't recall this episode having "lost" footage on the Roddenberry Vault discs, so it's fun to think this is possibly something we haven't seen before.

Nah, some of the frames look unfamiliar because they are flipped horizontally. And one on the bridge looks weird because it's a dissolve from one view of Kirk to another.

Yeah, that's what I suspected. But the seller's description ("The film footage appears to be a significantly extended version of this scene with lengthy pan shots of the two in conversation, which does not equate with the shorter exchange shown on TV.") got me discombobulated and hopeful. I should've known better. (Still, it's pretty cool to see 35mm film footage of TOS.)

If this were a 16mm syndication print, what he is saying would be impossible. But a 35mm print would only come out of Desilu itself, so it's theoretically possible for it to be a different edit than what was broadcast.

But that seems unlikely, because they were very cost conscious (they cut up the actual camera negative of "The Cage" to make "The Menagerie," having been too miserly to make a duplicate), and they would not have made a 35mm print of "The Enemy Within" until the 16mm work print edit was finalized. So it's hard to see how any 35mm print would include deleted scenes.

Most likely, the ebay seller is mistaken when he says there is extra footage.

Also, he calls his item a 35mm color negative in the title, but his images show a color positive print. That doesn't track.

He says it begins 15 minutes into the episode, but I wonder if the end credits are atached? Knowing what version of the first season theme is at the end would help answer questions about when they started using the cello theme...
