Again, I'm only talking about applying deep-fake 'looks' and 'voices' to motion-capture performances by human actors, acting out human-created scripts. Not a total reliance on AI for every level of the production.
I was responding to David cgc's comment about the tech allowing amateurs to create their own fan productions. Now, if you want a fan film to look good, you need to put a good amount of hard work and talent into it, and collaborate with other people who can critique and improve your work, which probably weeds out a lot of the junk you'd otherwise get from people who have ambition but no actual creative ability or judgment. If anyone can just push a few buttons and tell a machine to make the movie they see in their heads, the amount of sheer garbage is likely to increase exponentially.
