Unfortunately. But I do recognize there are more agreeable people here. I just find the TOS fanboys a bit condescending
It’s not as black and white as that and ‘TOS fanboys’ probably isn’t very helpful in terms of language.
I like TOS, above any of the rest of Trek, but I can enjoy pretty much any Star Trek to some degree and recognise TOS has deep flaws.
Like I said, you wandered into some bad conversations. Hopefully you will settle in and figure out who your ‘people’ are.
Welcome to the BBS by the way.
It always seemed like a spikey hot dog to me.I actually liked how in the theatrical version of TMP you never got a good look at V'ger in its entirety, which made it seem even more alien and incomprehensible.
Then here comes the Director's Edition and you realize that it looks like a sea cucumber with fins.
Case in point: THE WIZARD OF OZFor those that think TOS will become too dated, let me ask a question kinda related to this ... The original Star Wars trilogy is only about 10 years younger than TOS.
Do people believe that A New Hope will one day lose its "legendary status" among Star Wars fans as time goes on?
I just don't subscribe to the idea that quality content ages out of being relatable or enjoyable.
Things become more "legendary" the less a part of people's daily experience they are.
Only if there is a reboot? Will TOS maintain its legendary status as Trek fandom gets younger?
Only if there is a reboot?![]()
But that reboot came at a very heavy cost; the destructions of Romulus, Remus and Vulcan. This JJ reboot also resulted in the further perversion of the continuation of 24th/25th century Trek.2009 already was a semi reboot
Perversion, eh? How?But that reboot came at a very heavy cost; the destructions of Romulus, Remus and Vulcan. This JJ reboot also resulted in the further perversion of the continuation of 24th/25th century Trek.

This corruption of the space time continuum could be prevented via a temporal incursion, preventing the destruction of Romulus and Remus and the resulting dystopian repercussions on the late 24th century. Also, how can we have a reboot TOS timeline where Vulcan is destroyed? They would not be able to do Amok Time properly otherwise.Perversion, eh? How?
I guess I'm a massive pervert. But that reboot came at a very heavy cost; the destructions of Romulus, Remus and Vulcan. This JJ reboot also resulted in the further perversion of the continuation of 24th/25th century Trek.
No, I did not mean perversion by that definition, I meant like this:I guess I'm a massive pervert.
Kinks rule![]()
The distortion or corruption of the original course, meaning, or state of something.
"the thing which most disturbed him was the perversion of language and truth"
What are you on about? But that reboot came at a very heavy cost; the destructions of Romulus, Remus and Vulcan. This JJ reboot also resulted in the further perversion of the continuation of 24th/25th century Trek.
I said what I said. No, I did not mean perversion by that definition, I meant like this:
