Star Trek: Starships Model/Magazine Subscription

Totally forgot about this until just now. Was surprised to see the Yosemite is still available, so I took that as a sign and grabbed one.

see to me, it being a small group kinda makes it worse that the person can’t just pass it on to someone that will be in the office and say “hey can you please send this out at 6am on 9/1”.

but it’s no biggie, I’m not gonna throw a hissy fit about it. I can try using it in 2 weeks for the E-F.

This happens to big companies too, especially those where teams are strongly siloed. It's entirely possible that there's very few people authorised to generate/activate these codes specifically to stop fraud or other shenanigans.

I think I'll hold off for now on the Cravic and Kaylon until I can see what the coupon is. If the stock shows as low during the week, I may buy it, otherwise, I'll try and save some money. (Both are kinda pricey).

Last night, I got Yosemite, Cravic and Kaylon (wonder how the last two would get along if they met) within seconds of it turning 2100 hours.

I’m surprised they’re still available. I’d’ve thought any unreleased models sell out fast. Perhaps even Master Replicas’ market is now saturated.

From my observations, Star Trek ships sell like this:

Enterprises >>>> other Hero ships (DS9, Voyager, etc.) >>>> other Federation ships >> Klingon/Romulan ships >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> alien ships

yeah, I think there is some saturation. It’s clearly an issue Eaglemoss ran into as well. But I think releasing on Twitter the amount of stock available for each ship before hand may be hurting them too.

Per them, there were around 2,000 of the Yosemite’s available. So most people knew they could take some time to order. They didn’t have to be refreshing the site right at drop time, although some of us still did. Plus people like to own rare things. So if you say “rare, never released, limited numbers and get it quick” some people that might normally pass on it would pick one up. If you say stuff like “plenty available, you don’t need worry, should be enough to satisfy everyone and take your time” those same people may just shrug and keep moving.

in the case of the Yosemite it didn’t help matters that they priced it kinda high for what it is. 78$ (USD) plus the international shipping charge is a bit steep for a real basic (albeit XL sized) shuttlecraft. Unreleased or not.

I'm now just waiting on unreleased 32nd-century ships. I'm crazy for the designs!

I think I need some gravity boots to reach the Yosemite's asking price...

I like the idea of these Trek advent calendars, but we're pretty much three-for-three that they are overpriced garbage.
Yeah, this year's has knickknacks in it like the Eaglemoss calendar. I would've liked another starship-based calendar like the one about the Enterprise-D from 2022.

The Ent-D one would have been fine if sold for $40-45, it just doesn't seem worth $90-100.

The tchotchkes in the newest one certainly aren't "worth $250", that one should be $60-70, not $150.
