Do you feel bad knowing Sam Kirk's fate?

Remember The Final Frontier when Kirk was like, "I lost a brother once..." and we all thought he was talking about Sam but lol no.

I doubt anyone involved with the Final Frontier, including Shatner, remembered Sam.
Peter Preston might have been Peter Kirk in an earlier draft but Kirk would have been mid twenties by then and David and Spock were occupying space for Kirk's personal grief.

Sam was only mostly dead. The follow up team from Starfleet discovered a side effect of the parasites was a state that mimicked death. Sam is okay. That’s why Kirk has never mentioned his death in later episodes and movies.
The Lullaborg League concurs. He was not just really dead, he's not even nearly dead.

The actor has really made him a fun and endearing character. One I would even like to see bumped up to series regular. But it also sad because one could say he has a even worst fate than Pike. Dead at a young age. Early 30's I am guessing. His family destroyed.

Probably more late 30s early 40s. He's older that James T.

Yeah, it sucks. It’s like knowing Pike’s fate after having gotten to know that character better too. It gives the series a totally different feel, that admittedly I kind of dig.
