That's not the only instance of footage from other episodes in The Man Trap, which had many! Here's everything I noticed (including the WNMHGB footage you already mentioned):

• The opening shot of Spock on the Bridge & Uhura at the Navigation station is lifted from The Naked Time.
• After Kirk and FakeGreen beam up to the ship, Kirk is shown walking down a corridor and boarding a turbolift to the Bridge. This is a deleted scene from The Corbomite Manoeuvre (the wall panel arrangement is unique to that episode). This shot was used again in What Are Little Girls Made Of when AndroidKirk leaves his quarters to return to the planet.
  
• When Kirk discovers Green's corpse he orders the ship to GC3 status. Among the footage of crewmen scurrying around there's also a deleted scene from WNMHGB (the uniforms are a dead giveaway)
• When Spock is attacked, the shot of Kirk running down the corridor to the "dispensary" is lifted from The Naked Time when Kirk was running to Engineering (the shot stops just before he arrives!)

And of course all the ship in orbit shots are recycled from WNMHGB, but that will happen in other episodes more times than I care to mention!

Now that's what I call watching Star Trek.

There's more of a gap between TMT footage and WALGMO footage, but these screencaps pretty confirm the usage. The film was cropped and reframed slightly for TMT (left) but it has to have taken place at this time because Nimoy is just about to move his little finger during the second exchange with Ruk impersonating Kirk (right) and doesn't put it back after.

Both are only snippets but were certainly useful to the editor of The Man Trap !

Looking back at all the TOS/TAS Mudd episodes, I just realized that they all have a common love theme.

In "Mudd's Women", Harry is bringing mail-order brides to miners in space. In "I, Mudd", he has apparently escaped a nagging wife in favor of servile androids. In "Mudd's Passion", he's selling love potion.

Mudd could have written a Rule of Acquisition: "The way to a man's wallet is through his heart."

But WALGMO was filmed weeks later. If it was the source of the Spock in Captain's Chair shot, then The Man Trap and The Naked Time were assembled long after they were filmed.

Switching Spock back to blue for the series was a good idea. Watching WNMHGB and the gold-green uniform and the yellow Vulcan make up aren't a good combination.

Yes, final assembly was probably a while after filming wrapped - this is not unusual, especially with an effects-heavy show. And there's only 4 weeks between the 2 episodes.
Regardless, the images I showed upthread are entirely consistent with this - the sleeve wrinkles and hand positions are just too close to be otherwise.

It seems that the final cut (with the opening titles and narration) was not completed until August 19th, a little over 2 weeks from the actual broadcast date. Even if the closeup of Spock wasn't part of the original edit I can see it being slipped in once the decision was made for The Man Trap to be the first episode aired - it's the nearest thing to an introduction to Spock until later in the story, at which point you do NOT want the audience to be wondering who this pointy eared guy is!

I heard somewhere that was why Data wasn't the science officer on TNG, the blue uniform would've looked bad with his makeup. It's probably more likely that the decision not to have a science officer was an earlier choice as part of the "don't do TOS again" ethos, same with not having an engineer.
