Prediction: How many seasons?

It is a top 10 streaming show. Could it last 5 to 7 seasons? I know that is rare, but it is fantastic. Paramount Plus is desperate for viewers. SNW gives them that.

Preferably without killing off many or any characters! It would really complicate any future spinoffs/reunion projects if the landscape were to change.

To be fair we don't know how strikes will play out and affect things, we know they already did some work on it.

If strikes end relatively soon it could be more a blip when it comes to the release date of S3. I wouldn't speculate too much on that right now.

(Not saying this should or should not happen, I'm in full support of the strikes and if that delays a Star Trek show I'm very not fussed.)

It seems that the trend is now for shows to shoot for 4 seasons. I still think SNW will try for 5 (mostly because of the 5 year mission), but who knows, especially when the strike is over.

Also, even the 5-year-mission stuff might not really hold up anyway, since they basically said early season 2 was only 4 months after early season 1.

I’d love to see it go on as long as the cast is game and the writers have stories to tell, but depending on how long the strike continues will probably determine it. If the strike is settled quickly I could see it going on a few more seasons. If the strike lingers then all bets are off.

I hope there is even interest in Season 3. I'm thinking it's a 2 year wait and it just seems daunting right now. Hopefully we get Season 3 and at this point with everything uncertain, I think it will be the last. I'll just be happy to get it at this point.
