Same.Well I'm never watching anything with Stephen Amell in it again.
You have to be really privileged to disregard them.
You must be new here.Is that where we are now, conform to all decision made by your superiors and agree with them OR ELSE?
Not true. Around 11% in the US are part of a union. Lots more who aren't part of a union aren't privileged and are doing just fine.
Now, they do absolutely serve their purpose. But is it a rule that we have to agree with all of their decisions? Are we bad people if we don't? Is that where we are now, conform to all decision made by your superiors and agree with them OR ELSE?
Come on. We're better than this.
Lots more who aren't part of a union aren't privileged and are doing just fine
If you look at strictly median employment and retirement data, most aren’t doing good. Are they though?
Are they though?
If you disagree with them, then don’t join them and live with the consequences. The alternative is discretion.
He's still following the rules but has an opinion that isn't racist/sexist/anything bad.
News at 11.
I'm surrounded by many peripheral to the auto industry who share his views, and they aren't high level execs or anything, with example and reasoning as to why (like how badly it's taken advantage of). Doesn't make them bad people.
He’s privileged. He comes from money. This is clear when you look at the schools he attended. He has a safety net, so that he could pursue acting and not worry about failing. And he banked a lot of money from Arrow.Stephn Amell isn't following the rules, he was promoting his show Heels on his social media from the day it debuted (Friday) all through the weekend, then deleted them quickly when he made the news. This isn't just a "difference of opinion", he blatantly broke strike rules. Now he's put out some long PR apology for his statements, probably because his strike breaking over the weekend got him in trouble. Fuck him, he'll be stuck making direct to streaming "movies" with other assholes like Gino Carano and Kevin Sorbo soon enough.
Also, his statements were just stupid in general. A strike is literally the only leverage a union has, and just because he got 8 years as a lead on a TV show to get to the point where he doesn't care if studios screw others over doesn't mean he gets to go against the union.
Its funny to see a c-list TV star like him whine about the strike while we have multiple A-list actors out picketing and others like Dwayne Johnson donating a large amount of money to the strike relief fund. Amell is apparently too big to care about the studios screwing people but too small to be anything but a whiny little asshat compared to actors who are much better off then him.
I've seen stats that show even non-union members do better when there are unions. Unions push wages and benefits up for everyone. Here in AZ, a non-union "right-to-work" state, our wages and benefits tend to suck. Not true. Around 11% in the US are part of a union. @M'rk son of Mogh
My next door neighbor growing up who is a few years older than I am, went to work for a Union job right out of high school.
He was there for 30+ years, retired at 50 with a full pension and benefits, doesn't have to work anymore and he and his wife spend their retirement traveling.
They just got back from an Atlantic cruise and trip to Great Britain.
Will your non-union job allow you to do the same?
