Look, don't tell me how to fan! I am allowed to like what I like and what I like is a very specific 13-minute stretch of a random TOS episode that requires a very specific reading and interpretation that no one else but me shares yet is obviously the only correct thing and the franchise has been absolute dogshit since those 13-minutes and I disregard everything else in my head canon which is very obviously the only canon because of.....reasons.

I assume S/COMS in the later 2260s likes to just display a lot of random blinking colored lights? Or this is the S/COMS screensaver?

What does S/COMS stand for anyway? Spatial Communications' Official Multilingual Systems?

There were simple Andorians in Discovery as well, as background actors. Probably because it would be a waste of time putting that makeup on background actors.

At 47 minutes long, this was the shortest SNW so far this season.

Not surprising; comedy pacing tends to move at a faster clip.

Other episodes have ranged from 52 minutes to just over an hour. One marvelous thing about streaming is the freedom they have to do this.

I Appreciated the shorter run time. It made the episode pace better, and I think some of the episodes this season (Like Lotus Eaters and Lost in Translation) could have benefited by being a little shorter.

Paramount Exec: So a bunch of people quit Lower Decks. They're not even hate-watching it, they just stopped watching it period a long time ago.

SNW Showrunners: Don't worry, we have a plan to force them to watch at least one more episode. We'll turn an episode of Strange New Worlds into Lower Decks!

Paramount Exec: Brilliant, brilliant! We don't pay you enough. Actually, er, forget I said that, wouldn't want you using my words against me during a strike or anything.

So for all the people who insisted to me that Lower Decks got better since I quit watching Lower Decks after episode 5, is this the part where I said "Told you so" ? :p

This episode was sublime. I was in stitches when the nacelle sucking space baby showed up in the animated credit sequence. I was _devastated_ by the turbolift scene between Boimler and Chapel and I was throughly delighted at Mariner and Ortegas trying their best to get Uhura to relax. But the final transporter scene where Number One is told that her ordeal in the courtroom would be quoted and put on a recruitment poster? I cried again, tears of joy.

This might be the best episode of Star Trek ever made. I watched it an hour ago and I'm still emotional. I think I'm going to watch it again, like right now.

10/10, no notes, do this again forever.
100%.

Also, I loved the nacelle space baby scene in the opening sequence, especially when they passed through the burning asteroid field and it was on fire.

I could fan girl about this episode all day, but suffice to say it was absolutely fantastic, and my favorite episode of the season, bar none.

This was a fun episode and if LD is bleeding viewers I sure haven't heard about it. And even if it were...so what? Some of the best Trek has had small audiences.
My post was a joke because I quit watching years ago, and this episode reminded me why. I'm going on a "Told you so" tour on all the people who said it got better. I don't know if it's bleeding viewers other than me, some people misunderstood my post which was intended as a self-reference.

I have to admit they shouldnt have done it. Lower decks is a comedy on the level of futurama. Star trek while havng comedy in the past never got that silly. Crossing over with a cartoon was a jump the shark moment for star trek. Spock is currently becoming a joke after this episode. I was really enjoying the show up to this point but wow bad choice. So now a silly cartoon is part of canon? Not even sure how that would fit. Weve had 3 time travel eps in a season and a half and this one was the worst. This was on the level of lost in spsce(1960s) series silliness. No thank you.
