I’ve been a Trek fan since I was a kid watching TNG, but this is my first time in a Trek forum. I came across it while I was searching online trying to figure out what the chest badges in SNW’s (and TOS’s The Space Seed) trial episode signify.
I’ve enjoyed reading through many of these threads and thought I’d join to finally be able to talk about Trek things (The husband is a Star Wars person..don’t look at me like that, I was young at the time).

I’m all about discussion, but I felt like I accidentally stepped on a hornet’s nest.
I have three teens, and my youngest is 3; I don’t think I have the energy for online drama, too. LOL

I'm not challenging your experience but for a thread based on loathing a character it's been pretty run of the mill disagreement.

Some threads are more contentious than others. Go find "Is starfleet a military" or "Does the Federation have money" or "J.J. Abrams" for the real fireworks.

It's a bit long or high if you will but really nice. A college girlfriend had a similar style back in the 80s. For a while. Theater majors, love to change things. Worse than engineers.

6 years in, so, military opinion.. we cut up all the time, some days its so much laughing, quips, barbs etc. that no work gets done. Its basically a family (insert Vin Diesel FAMILY Meme) , as I would think, being on a ship for years at a time would make it a family as well. Plus, its Pike in charge, I'm sure if another more formal captain was in charge, she'd change her attitude, but with pike's lais e fair attitude, he doesn't mind.

Plus.. Just look at Tom Paris, basically the same character.

Her character is a sarcastic, wise cracking hotshot pilot, I have no problems with her, her deminor, or her look. Honestly one of my favorite characters that i WISH would get more back story..

Anytime the characters are in dress uniform they have the awards. The diplomatic gathering in “Journey to Babel” for example.

Most people definitely do not assume someone is "queer" just by looking at their hairstyle.
