Random Thoughts...or...What's on Your Mind?

Or play with the lawn darts to make other parents lose their minds.

Lawn darts is kinda' like men BBQin', where's the fun if you don't have don't a bit of danger?

I think you can only find that game in a garage/estate sale nowadays and was banned. But I've played it, sometimes you you had too be quick 'on your feet'.

Bought it as a kid at garage sale in the 70s. Love it.

Gotta love lawsuits about spreading misinformation.

Gotta think of hilariously stupid ideas to spread to the masses. Bad information is information.

Information is power.

Power is control.

People crave control in their lives and over the lives of others.

Bad information means control.
Control is an illusion.

Going against the status quo usually results in some economic penalties with few exceptions.

I'm guessing that you have also read Orwell's '1984'.
A while ago. "Brave New World" stood out more to me. But, Philosophy of Ethics class was several years ago.

I more opine on the idea that much of what I see with humans in the counseling realm that many aspects of anxiety and depression come from people feeling powerless and seeking that power and control in some measure in their lives.

People underestimate how much luck plays a role in their life.

A third of Harvard’s class is legacy, meaning that they paid their way in, not because of actual talent. That speaks a lot about being lucky to be born into a legacy family. You have more opportunities at birth.
Yours is an appeal to logic. Humans are not logical beings by default. We have deeply emotional needs, and the foundational one is the need for connection. People want connection and will find that through power and control, illusionary or not, as best they can.

I’m working on a short story, where the main protagonist’s life is dependent on a coin toss. It’s inspired by the coin toss scene in No Country for Old Men but with a sci-fi twist.

Nice and a good interesting idea, though I believe Futurama did a similar episode :)
