No, the footage that plays during Pike's speech shows that it happened in the early 21st Century, likely in response to Trumpism. And the Second American Civil War....which can be argued to have started in the 1950's with McCarthy's antics.

KIRK: Name, Khan, as we know him today. (Spock changes the picture) Name, Khan Noonien Singh.
SPOCK: From 1992 through 1996, absolute ruler of more than a quarter of your world. From Asia through the Middle East.
MCCOY: The last of the tyrants to be overthrown.
SCOTT: I must confess, gentlemen. I've always held a sneaking admiration for this one.
KIRK: He was the best of the tyrants and the most dangerous. They were supermen, in a sense. Stronger, braver, certainly more ambitious, more daring.
SPOCK: Gentlemen, this romanticism about a ruthless dictator is
KIRK: Mister Spock, we humans have a streak of barbarism in us. Appalling, but there, nevertheless.
SCOTT: There were no massacres under his rule.
SPOCK: And as little freedom.
MCCOY: No wars until he was attacked.
The simplest explanation is that 1990s Khan actually was a benevolent dictator and the other shows that portray him as a bloodthirsty tyrant in fact take place with the newly established 2022 Khan who actually is a murderous maniac. Or as I mentioned in another thread, John Gill's (the guy who tried to turn an alien planet into WW2 Germany) twisted history lectures at Starfleet Academy influenced Kirk, Scotty, etc.'s way of thinking.TOS said there was no mass killings under Khan’s rule, and he only attacked in self-defence. But later shows and movies make it sound like he was as bad
Yup. It's right there in the episode."Records are fragmentary." Easiest explanation. They don't have the whole picture.
Everything else was lost except Khan's Truth Social posts..."Records are fragmentary." Easiest explanation. They don't have the whole picture.

Indeed, and it's interesting in the quote Tuskin cites in his post, that Khan didn't attack unless attacked.Yup. It's right there in the episode.
Well, the episode doesn't even bear that out, since Khan immediately asserts his will to dominate over the Enterprise. "Such man dare take what they want." His whole demeanor of civility is a facade. Why would the historical record reflect his more barbaric ways. The idealism of his reign, no massacres, is not accurate at all.TOS said there was no mass killings under Khan’s rule, and he only attacked in self-defence. But later shows and movies make it sound like he was as bad as Hitler.

Those people don't hang around TrekBBS in great numbers...According to a 2023 government report called "Many People Ain't As Stoopid As You Think," the vast majority of people actually believe that the various television shows in the venerable Star Trek franchise actually isn't real, but the imaginary products of various writers and producers. This latest finding comes on the heels of the recent revelation that there may actually be some kind of meat in the long-selling Spam food product after all....

Exactly. Look at what Khan does in the episode. Look at how quickly he loses his temper and becomes violent whenever anyone crosses him. Look at how much he uses torture as an interrogation tactic. Now think about what kind of people would willingly follow such a man.Well, the episode doesn't even bear that out, since Khan immediately asserts his will to dominate over the Enterprise. I believe there had to be massacres under Khan's rule, but they were largely covered up. Hell, Spock outright says there were "whole populations bombed out of existence." What is that if not massacring people?
Its an evolutionary war.
It's about babies.
You don't execute dissenters, you chain them to a bed, and keep them pregnant or keep them producing baby batter.
